INGLES.png

Hello to all my dear friends of Hive, happy Tuesday.
Today I want to show you how I made together with my mom a nice sewing bag for her, since she is always attending different handicraft/sewing courses and she always needs to carry all the materials, molds and so on.
To make this bag we used different techniques that make the bag look very nice and unique.

materiales.png

  • Thick rigid fabrics.
  • Taffeta lining fabric.
  • Colored rigid fabrics.
  • Molds.
  • Embroidery threads.
  • Pins.
  • Needles.
  • Scissors.
  • Homemade sewing machine.

PROCEDIMIENTO.png

As a first step we made the appliqués, using the patchwork technique by taking different fabrics of various colors and patterns to form three figures.

IMG-20230626-WA0012.jpg

Then all around the contour of the figures we pass seam or scallop stitch embroidery, we are going to join it to the fabric that will go on the front of the bag. In one of the figures we also use the chain stitch technique to make the "pins".

IMG_20230807_130446 - copia.jpg

To assemble the bag we use four pieces, two at the front and two at the back. The upper front piece is the one where we join the figures. And I take this opportunity to tell you that this fabric is recycled because they were cushion linings that I had saved and no longer used, a fabric that was still in good condition and I decided to give it a second chance.

At the bottom we are going to join with a straight seam and then proceed to join the sides so that it is in the shape of a T. We do this on both sides of the bag.

IMG_20230807_130357.jpg

We proceed to make the lining with the same mold as the bag and then turn the fabric over to sew the lining.

For a better finish on the upper part, a chain stitch is stitched with red embroidery thread.

IMG_20230807_162348.jpg

Also, as an extra touch, we place some magnet clasps on the sides that will help us to make the bag smaller if necessary.

IMG_20230807_144037.jpg

To make the handles of the bag, I reused a red strap that I had saved some time ago and that was already out of fashion. I cut two 30 cm long strips and sewed them by hand.
Since it is a very thick material I had to do it by hand. And with this we will have ready this beautiful and delicate sewing bag, ready for my mom to take it to all her classes.

IMG_20230807_172122.jpg

I also want to tell you that from the design of the bag I made a lining for the sewing machine, with the same fabrics and figures and I want to leave you a picture of the result.

IMG_20230808_165542.jpg

I hope you liked my post today, and I wish all the dear hivers who belong to this sewing community a good day and night.
