Happy weekend community. I hope you are all very well.

Today, I'm participating to the Hive NFTgame Latino community initiative, with another character of the week but in this case, for the WarOfClans game. This week's character is human: Knight

imagen.png

The knight Whisper, was known in the Dawn Kingdom, for being the right hand of King Hortigas. He was a very reserved person, quiet and without many friends. A loner, who only revered his King, everything he was entrusted with was carried out. But, being the right hand of the King, he always remained at his side at all times, he took care of him from internal betrayals and even from himself.

imagen.png

King Hortigas was neither good nor bad. He was not unfair, but neither did he give too much to his people. He used to have moments where his selfishness got the better of him and he forgot about his followers and when Whisper interceded in the King's life, usually to avoid a poisoning or even a knife against his throat. King Hortigas was forced to reflect and try to make things better. Of course, this after severely punishing the entire plot and all those who were in any way involved.

The King owed countless times his life to the knight Whisper, he always thanked him and the best gesture he had was to involve him in all the decisions he had to make for the kingdom. And, if there was some delicate mission that merited having the King's perspective in real-time and was very dangerous, Whisper was entrusted. It was not the best thing to do because the King was at the mercy of others, but it had to be done, for the good of all. Whisper always obeyed his King and it seems that he left everything prepared so that the King could have quiet moments in the absence of his knight.

It seems that Whisper, being very reclusive socially, allowed him to know the rumors of the reign. No one knows very well how he did it. But, it seems that this was the way he kept his King safe from any attack. Rumor even had it that when the King was going too far astray, he would allow the plot to go far enough for the King to realize that he was upsetting more than one. It was preferable, to change those attitudes in time against a few enemies, than against the whole reign or reigns attacking at once.

imagen.png

The truth is that Whisper, when he set out on a mission of importance to the crown, most of the time departed alone. His missions were of the utmost importance and so was the King's safety. If many people knew about the missions or how unprotected the King seemed to be, they could take advantage of it to attack either of them and that was what he wanted to avoid.

When he left the kingdom, he always did it with his black horse and he did it under the moonlight, only his armor shone in the dense darkness. Otherwise, he seemed totally invisible. He was very comfortable being invisible to others. But, it was inevitable for him to worry about his King, when he left the kingdom.

No one knows, but the King, in his youthful days when he hunted in the Moon Forest, where, well they say, demonic creatures and entities appear. He found a little boy almost his age, malnourished and about to die by the claws of a giant bear. With the help of the escort, they killed the bear and managed to rescue the child, who would become Hortigas' first friend. They played in the kingdom and because they were friends he could enjoy certain benefits that only those close to the crown could afford, such as learning new languages with wise philosophers, using a sword, and governing. But, little by little they were separated. Hortigas was set to become the King, while Whisper was groomed to serve Hortigas.

Whisper always knew that his path should be, to watch over the one who saved his life. It was a debt of honor he felt he owed for his entire life. He owed her the breath he could still breathe and for him, that was more than enough to give his life for his King. Hence, there was such a bond between these two and such a strong devotion by the knight to his King.

The King was mediating in a territorial dispute between two neighboring kingdoms. He made his presence felt on several occasions. The agreement was almost ready and he had to be there, or at least the right hand to witness the signing of the treaties, it would be in a neutral place to the three kingdoms. Whisper, he had a very important mission ahead, it seems that it was more protocol than anything else. However, the presence of an important authority at the meeting was necessary.

It seemed like fate, but the meeting was to be held in a village in the vicinity of the Moon Forest. The groups were assembled and Whisper was arriving with a small escort of warriors he held in high esteem.

All was going well, the parties signed the treaty and at the end, a small celebration would be held in a large barn in the village, to ingratiate that historic day of union and fraternity. But, the atmosphere was strange, it seemed that the only ones who were going to celebrate were Whisper's men who were gathered around a huge banquet, and the others seemed to be delayed. Whisper, tried to get out, but the door was already locked. His heart leaped and he knew it was a trap, he managed to shout in time to his companions, to take cover as best they could and the arrow attacks started from all directions in the heights of the barn. The guard took cover under the table of the banquet, Whisper who was at the door had disappeared. Whisper's men were falling one by one. Until somehow the door could be opened. Brutus, the strongest of the group, lifted the table to cover his companions as they fled to the door, outside, swords awaited them.

imagen.png

They knew it, they had been very well trained by Whisper, so they were prepared to fight with some hidden daggers they carried. It was a real slaughter, all the archers died soon after the men escaped from that prison of death. Brutus, was amazing in that battle. But, he had suffered too many wounds from the arrows when he was covering his companions, he died after throwing the table with all his strength against the small army that was waiting for them. It seems, that the surprised ones were the ones who set the trap.

That night, it was long, although they were outnumbered 20 to 1. Whisper's men managed to fulfill their honor as knights of the Dawn Kingdom.

Other companions, Brethen and Guss the most skilled men and second in command after Whisper, while bleeding from mortal wounds, watched as their enemies were stabbed and slashed. They, not understanding what was going on, watched carefully as their adversaries died. They managed to identify Whisper's swords moving here and there with great skill, but they could not see who was carrying them.

imagen.png

The last of the enemy tried to defend himself as best he could, shouting for forgiveness, but the sword swung until it cut him in half without contemplation. Then, these swords began to approach Brethen and Guss who watched in astonishment. A ghost holding the weapons of their leader and now approached them. They tried to stand up to fight once more, but their bodies prevented them. They were on the verge of death, they could only wait for the final blow, but not only for that they would leave without cursing that specter.

The swords were already above them, but they stuck in the ground. A voice was heard from nowhere. "We are at war against those treacherous kingdoms. Our King is in danger." The boys recognized the voice. Chief Is that you, what happened to you, are you a ghost? They started to think about the fact that they had never seen Whisper without his armor.

Whisper, seeing the state of his companions, saw no point in hiding the truth and told them if it was him. He had died in the forest of the Moon long ago, from a bear attack. He had lived normally all his life until one full moon his body disappeared completely, at that moment memories of his life outside the castle came to him and he remembered a Necromancer from the Moon forest who had kidnapped him and performed a ritual on him, just the day he died. King Hortigas, did not know that what he saved was my spirit.

His companions did not have the time to understand, they were already dying. But, they managed to thank Whisper for training them so well. That now, something more difficult than this battle was coming. Dark times were coming again...

Whisper, thanked them for their sacrifice, for being so loyal to the crown and for choosing him as their leader, and swore that their deaths would be avenged with the blood of their new enemies.

imagen.png

All his companions died that night. But, there was no time to mourn, he mounted them on a wagon and took them back with him to the Dawn Kingdom. So that they would receive a dignified burial and as indisputable proof of the treachery of the kingdoms that once called them friends.

The King was safe and the same perspective Whisper had on the inevitable war was shared by Hortigas, with the entire kingdom. Although they were concerned, they were deeply offended by the betrayal and vociferously accepted the destruction of their enemies.

It was clear, that Whisper and Hortigas had to be much more careful now. For, if the attack was directed at Whisper, it is because there is a plan underway within the kingdom to do away with Hortigas. How will this war end? What will happen to Hortigas and his faithful right-hand man Whisper? Only time will tell
