Wez kept moving forward until he came to a halt before the wall, staring at the phrase written there: "Now remember where you first heard this song." He tried to recall the song from among the many places he had visited; after pondering for several minutes, an image finally came to mind—a small, dark room with a window covered by white curtains, and rain falling outside. Wez wanted to see more, but the image vanished.
He felt a sense of unease, knowing there was still something left to discover. Just then, the melody began to play again—yet it was strange, for the sound did not originate from that room but from somewhere else, with every note ringing out clear and perfect. Wez closed his eyes and began to savor the melody; however, he found himself remembering something he had never wanted to recall: a wooden door with five slots, and someone holding the key—someone who spoke aloud the words, "I have been here before."
Upon opening his eyes, there was nothing there; Wez looked once more at the photograph on the wall, studying the guitarist, the girl, and the third man. Examining it closely, he noticed a small detail in the bottom corner: a tiny figure, almost hidden behind the guitarist—a boy he was seeing for the first time since this whole adventure began. Wez picked up the photograph and realized the figure's face was partially obscured by shadow, yet he was wearing the same clothes Wez remembered from a picture he had seen many years ago.
At that moment, he looked back at the third man and understood why he was holding an instrument he had never been able to play—a small wooden box. Wez had seen it several times in his life; it was the very box his mother had kept in the attic. "This can't be real," he said aloud. Yet, the voice spoke again: "The part you remember, or the part they made you forget?" Then, the five key-shaped marks began to glow, and the photograph started to shift as if under a spell: the guitarist raised his head, the girl turned toward the camera, and the third man looked directly at Wez. Startled, Wez dropped the photograph; as it shattered, a small slip of paper fell out reading: YOU WERE HERE TOO. But strangest of all, a boy's voice was heard saying, "Now you just have to remember why you left."
