Attempts were made often during the day yesterday to actually accomplish something around the farm, but I find myself having only managed a couple of tasks. Some days just don't work out how I hope but I have to make the best of it. Plans seem to be made to be broken, at least my personal plans.

First on the day was to get the boys up, fed, and J going on some school work. Mid morning was when I finally got out into the garden and was able to plant 14 spots of Super Pik summer squash seeds where I tilled on Sunday. This finishes off my summer squash plantings for the year for a total of 110 plantings of 2 or more seeds.

stryeyz@stryeyz got off work early and hit up Costco before coming home. After she got home and we unloaded the car I spent a little while organizing and determining which seeds will be planted in the garden and filling in my planting plan. The batch on the left are for the main garden and will fill 18 rows. The batch on the right are for the pole bean garden. Most of which are beans but a row will be for Malabar Spinach, Cucumbers, and gourds.

We went to town to look at a pair of Toyota Tacoma trucks for sale. The first was an access cab in really good shape with super low miles, but the car seats wouldn't fit well in the back seats. The other one was in really nice shape, has 146k miles, was imported from Canada, but is not the TRD Off Road version, it is just the base model. While the second one is nearly what I want, it isn't quite all that I want. Since I am not in an all fired hurry to get a new truck, I am going to keep looking and waiting for the right one to come along.

After we got home I was checking on the various plants in the yard and I noticed my Elderberry bushes from papa-pepper@papa-pepper are taking off now and showing some really good growth. The 2 have made it through 2 winters now and are well acclimated to the great white north. I am looking forward to them putting off their first elderberries. We have 2 types now, the black from the south and the native purple.

Leftovers for dinner meant we had more time to hang out in the yard. The last string of lights was bought at Costco so I installed half of it on the fence line to continue the length. I stopped at our gate since one of the poles for it has broken and needs to be replaced. I will need to figure out my over head support for the lights as the gate is our primary and sees a number of taller things hauled through it.

The yard is finally coming into its own now and is getting nicely dialed in. Since the quarantine didn't effect us and our lives much I have been spending time making our yard far more comfortable to hang out in. Many people have used the quarantine time to finally get projects done around their houses and to make their homes more comfortable. We don't do much most times anyway so our house and farm were already ultra comfortable for us, but now it is even more so.

The cherry trees in the yard are covered in blossoms and the yard lights give it a really cool look at night. The light shines from below and illuminates the branches and the flowers get a glow about them.
