Our water softener is a pig. It eats salt extra fast but it does the job of removing the iron quite well combined with the iron filter. Yesterday after getting new tires on my truck I hit Costco and got 14 bags of salt. Each bag weighs 40 lbs and got moved 5 times.

First was loading them into a shopping cart before I found a flat cart and transfered them to that. Then I loaded them into my truck and drove home. Once home I unloaded them from my truck and staged the bags outside the kitchen door. I had to carry the bags about 60 feet from the truck to the door.

All 14 bags went down the stairs 2 at a time, one in each arm, then got piled on the pallet.

2500 lbs of total weight from all the moves. It was a throw back to my warehouse working days when I would move many tons of concrete bags in a day.

We are now set for about 4 months with the salt and will have to get more in March. One more recurring task rescheduled for a later date.
