Hello dear Holozing friends, I hope you're all doing well. I wish you a happy Saturday! Today, I want to share my latest fan art with you. It's a drawing of Miu, but this time I've tried to create a 3D effect, giving her form a lot of definition while still maintaining her animated look. As with my previous drawings, I used gray cardstock. This type of cardstock allows for better contrast with colored pencils, and even though Miu's design is gray, it doesn't prevent me from taking advantage of the background color. Hola queridos amigos de Holozing, espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy les deseo un feliz día de Sábado. En esta oportunidad, quiero compartir con ustedes mi último fan art, y se trata de un dibujo de Miu, ahora con la diferencia de que lo he tratado de hacer con un efecto de 3D, dándole mucha definición a su forma pero sin perder su condición de animación. Para hacerlo, así como mis anteriores dibujos, ha sido en cartulina de color gris, con este tipo de cartulina el contraste que se puede lograr con los lápices de colores, aunque el diseño de Miu es de color gris, esto no es impedimento para aprovechar el color del fondo. Aquí podrán ver paso a paso como iré pintando con los lápices de colores cada parte hasta lograrlo, no se lo pierdan. Comencemos!
I sketched this drawing in white because, obviously, using a pencil would have made it very difficult to see through the colored cardstock. White crayon was the best option. I drew Miu's round shape, then her ears and little paws. To start adding color, I began with the ears. I painted the inside of the ears a very light pink, and for the outer edges, I used dark gray and white to give Miu's fur some dimension.
El boceto para este dibujo lo hice con color blanco, porque si lo hubiera hecho con lápiz por obvias razones hubiera sido muy difícil poder visualizarlo por el color de la cartulina, así que la mejor opción fue el color blanco de cera. Hice la forma redonda de Miu, luego sus orejas y sus pequeñas patitas. Para comenzar agregar el color, lo hice por la parte de las orejas las cuales pinté la parte interior de color rosa muy claro, y el parte exterior de los borde utilicé el color gris oscuro y también color blanco para darle relieve a los pelos de Miu.
You can see how I gradually painted the upper part. What I wanted to achieve was to enhance the 3D realism by highlighting the edges. When this area blends with the darker strokes into a single view, it becomes much clearer. Then I added white with very quick, short strokes to create the illuminated parts of Miu's fur. You can also see how, as I did this, the shape of her face gradually emerged.
Pueden ver como poco a poco iba pintando en la parte superior, lo que quería lograr es que a través de la iluminación de los bordes, el realismo del 3D pudiera visualizarse mejor, cuando esta parte se une con los trazos oscuros en una sola visión, se puede apreciar mejor. Luego fui agregando el color blanco con trazos muy rápidos y cortos para hacer las partes iluminadas del pelaje de Miu, pueden ver también como al hacer esto la forma del rostro va apareciendo poco a poco.
Now I began shading Miu's fur with slightly darker colors, but still within the gray range, so as not to lose the character's essence. I also added dark blue, so that when it comes time to blend and mix the colors, the contrast will be more visible. Next, I began shaping the eyes, outlining the entire outer corner with black and defining the highlighted areas with white.
Ahora comencé a sombrear el pelaje de Miu con colores un poco más oscuros pero en el torno de los grises, así no se pierde la esencia del personaje. También agregué color azul oscuro, así cuando llegue el momento de difuminar y mezclar los colores se vea mejor el contraste. Seguidamente comencé a darle forma a los ojos, bordeando todo el extremo con color negro y delimitando las partes iluminadas con color blanco.
I started painting the eyes, making a change in shape, I made them like those of a realistic cat, with a pointed retina and green color, in which I used several shades of green and thus I gave it a crystalline shape by mixing with white color.
Comencé a pintar los ojos, haciendo un cambio en la forma, los hice como los de un gatos realista, con la retina en forma puntiaguda y de color verde, en el cual utilicé varios tonos de verde y así le fui dando forma cristalina mezclando con color blanco.
After coloring the eyes, I began painting and adding contrast to the lower part, including the paws, in the same way I mixed shades of gray with some dark blue on the upper part. To make the strokes for the hair, you have to make them short and very quick; sometimes you don't need to exaggerate the size—the smaller the strokes, the better.
Luego de darle color a los ojos, comence a pintar y darle contraste en la parte inferior, incluyendo las patitas, de la misma forma que en la parte superior mezclé los tonos de grises con algo de azul oscuro. Para hacer los trazos para el pelo hay que hacerlos cortos y muy rápidos, a veces no hay que exagerar en el tamaño, mientras más pequeños sean lso trazos mejor
To finish the drawing, I blended all the colors with a soft brush mixed with a little oil. After that, you can reapply the layers of colors used to give the shape more volume.
Para finalizar el dibujo lo que hice fue difuminar todos los colores con un pincel suave mezclado con un poco de aceite, luego de eso se puede volver aponer las capas de colores utilizadas para que la forma obtenga más volumen.
What do you think of the result? Do you think it looks like a 3D animation? After blending the colors, I painted two more layers, also adding a dark gray. ¿Qué les ha parecido el resultado? ¿Creen que luce como una animación 3D? luego de haber difuminado los colores volvi a pintar dos capas mas de colores, agregando también un gris oscuros que con el aceite del pincel el contraste alcanzado fue mejor y me gusto mucho.
