I never went overboard with taking supplements. But I did go overboard with buying supplements because a workout program suggested to take the supplements. One day I ended up purchasing approximately $300 CAD ($230 USD) of supplements. I do not suggest to do that. You don't really need a lot of supplements, in my opinion. But however there is a few that I do take religiously. We will talk about those supplements in today's blog post.

What Is Supplements?

The definition of 'Supplement' is, something that completes or enhances something else when added to it. So basically you shouldn't be taking supplements if you are already getting the desired macros from the foods you eat everyday.

Supplements I Recommend Taking

Protein

Think of protein like the building block to your bones and muscles and pretty much your body, If you want to build size and get stronger the more protein intake you take is key to success in getting larger. Protein can actually help you heal from some injuries. The rule of thumb I try to use is 1 gram of protein for every pound of body weight. That's a hell of a ton of protein and it can be extremely hard to consume that much protein a day I often even struggle to consume 100 grams of protein a day. Thats where protein powder comes in to help, you can whip up a protein shake in a matter of seconds and that can give you a extra 20 grams of protein with little to none effort of cooking.

Creatine

Creatine help regenerate Adenosine Triphophate also known as ATP. ATP is your body's main source of energy. Creatine is good for you but you have to take it properly or else it can store in your muscles and dramatically decrease  your energy. Creatine alone will not make you a bigger person you still need to eat healthy and provide your body with good sources for carbs and protein.
