I am behind with the tomato diaries. These were Sunday's work product. Bottled in their own juice it's not a difficult job, just long.
Step one is to steep in boiling water amd drain to remove their skins.
As usual, suitable jars had to be sorted, cleaned and readied for the dry pack.
Then, the hot juice to pour into and around the tomatoes.
The final step is sterilising the jars in a water bath.
I had to do them in three batches and hoped they would all seal properly. Three didn't and are in the fridge and will become a sauce.
I still have tomatoes left. They could become chutney. I am still deciding...
