Here is a finished repair of a spot where a shoulder tore away from the neckband. Since the torn edges would not meet, I backed the hole with a scrap of white knit fabric.

The hole was covered with 3 step zigzag stitches worked back and forth at different angles until the white patch was covered.I used blue thread with white bobbin thread. Here is the wrong side.

I also traced a pattern and cut out a knit top with a mock turtleneck. The fabric is cotton blend rib knit.

I enjoy keeping older things in good condition just as much as I enjoy making brand new things
