After almost finishing the cuff of my green sock, I acquired a new sock pattern book. There was a lovely lace knee-high pattern I fell in love with, so I ripped out the sock I was making and cast on the new pattern.
Some of you are thinking "What madness is this?" because socks are such an investment of time. All those tiny stitches, now gone. But I am happy. The yarn lets you know what it wants to do, and this yarn wants to be a pair of lace knee-highs.
Just look at the top edge! I have always wanted this wavy edge and the pattern is so easy. The peaks are a series of six (YO,K1) and the valleys are the corresponding six (K2tog) to keep the number of total stitches constant.
Since taking the photograph I have completed the wavy edge and the ribbed band with eyelets for ribbon garters. The rest of the calf is next.
I also called my local yarn shop and asked them to look for another skein of this merino superwash. Longer socks mean my supply might run out. Fortunately, she has one more skein. It now has my name on it so I can pick it up tomorrow. So happy, since this is not a mass-produced yarn.
My pink camisole is almost done. I hope to reveal it soon after I add the top edge elastic and straps. Happy NeedleworkMonday to all of you!
