This #freewrite was written in two lots of five minutes using

"What are you doing later?" Jasper asked suddenly.
A wave of panic washed over Kira. Was he hitting on her?
"Errr," she said, then took a sip of her pint, playing for time.
"Are you coming over to Marion's," Jasper continued, his eye on Dave as the barman picked up his half-pint glass, rinsed it and began pouring lager. "Marion said she was having some friends over."
Ah, yes. Marion had mentioned something. She'd forgotten.
"I'm not sure," Kira said. "I have some work to do when I get back."
"Oh?" Jasper nodded at Dave as he placed the half-pint down. "What kind of work do you do on a Saturday evening?"
Kira smiled. There was something about the way Jasper asked the question. It was a challenge. As if he were trying to catch her out.
"I work from home," she said. "I'm a translator. I need to check over something and then email it to France."
Why am I going into so much detail? He makes me feel uncomfortable.

The door opened and the wind blew in Marion. Kira smiled. Marion was always a breath of fresh air!
"Kira! Darling!" Marion said. "You've met Jasper, I see!" Marion breezed over to Kira gave her a hug and a kiss. "He's down for a few days. Came to see the Toe Jam." Marion screwed up her face. "Shame about the weather. Did you go and have a look?" Marion smiled.
"I listened for a while. You know how I feel about feet!" Marion laughed, a tinkly sound that always made Kira want to laugh too. "Come with me for a minute," Marion said. She took hold of Kira's hand. Kira noticed Marion had painted her nails again. The nail polish was bright, neat, multicoloured. Cheerful like the woman who wore it. Marion pulled Kira over to the toilets, blowing a kiss at Oddie as she passed. When the door closed on them, Marion turned to look at Kira.
"What do you think of Jasper?" she asked. Kira screwed up her face.
"To be honest," she said. "He creeps me out."
