Despite the fast developments, my job will still be in existence in ten year time
Hello guys, welcome to my blog,
the rapid developments of AI and robots is causing great concern to humans. Because now, many people have been losing their jobs. Some time ago, I came across an advertisement that was taking about skills to learn to avoid AI replacing you in the future, it's wired but it's already happening.
well I learnt a skill some year ago, though I haven't said it or showed it's here before.
Taking about skills, I have tried many and sometimes it seems like it not going well for me, untill a civil engineering came to me and said he wanted to mentor me and teach me how to work, I thought he was joking, because then I was getting some money as a labourer in a site and learning the skill might steal that from me.
But he convinced me and I agreed to him, though it wasn't easy but he gave me a change to start some where. At that time, I was learning the masonry job and also studying some drawing at the same time.
i worked for hours and sometimes I don't get any pay from him or less pay, I believe it was the sacrifice I was paying.
i mastered masonry Within a few months and was still going higher in reading building plans. After that, am going higher by getting some degree to show for it.
my skills will still be reliant in ten years time.
Reasons are:
If by then, a machine or AI is created to design a building plan, they also need someone to make a final decision on it before selling it to the client. for example, a AI can suggest a design for a bridge or road, but they need a human engineering to review and verify it safety.
some AI are programmed for specific uses, but not all can be programmed as a full civil engineering, it will take forever before it can be possible.
robots can be made to help us (civil engineerings ) make work easy and never to replace us, my job as a future civil engineering will still exit in ten year time, despite the rapid growth of AI and robots round the globe because we are irreplaceable.
