You see me laughing, dancing and cutting up the rug,
You see me happy, smiling as my hip I lug.
Filled with caffeine and pain killers I am determined to have fun,
You see the battle with pain I truly have won.
Some days I can really go to the limit,
Maybe the next day I will pay for it.
But I refuse to let pain stop my stride,
For this journey of life we only have one ride.
I plan to enjoy every second of every day,
I will laugh, sing and play.
I will love ever so passionately,
Because happiness is the only thing I see.
Will you see me squinch as a stabbing pain I feel,
Will you see me struggle with a pain that's real.
Yes you may catch me shed a tear or two,
But you will also see me have a good time too.
I will not allow pain to over come,
I definitely will not allow it to ruin my fun.
Yes I am set for surgery and I may have to take a break,
But guaranteed even then some fun I'll make.
Life is too short to complain in self pity,
Get up, get dressed and come and dance with me.
Challenges may come but remember who you are,
You are a child of God, and in Him you shall go far.
