Having a pet can be like to having a child and that's because of how playful they can be, and not forgetting how they tend to crave their owners attention, just like kids do, pet are one of the best things you can own or gift your family because I'd how lovely and dependent they can be. I liken them to children because of the warmth and joy they brings to our home. Although at the moment I don't have a pet, but I've once had some while growing up and would definitely want to have one again, the joy of watching them grow and develop a bond with the is something I've once experienced, know how heartwarming it can be and would love to experience once again.
Like I stated above, during my childhood we had two dogs as pet, although the first day, dad brought them, they were kind of reserved, even though they look so cute and we tried to play with them, but as time goes on, we began to share a special bond with them, to the point where they'll miss us and would be super excited to see us come back home from school or an outcome outing that took us away from home without them. I see having dog as comforting, probably because how they have the ability to make the home feels lively, the way they interact with we the owners is one that makes you feel genuinely loved and not to forget their protective instinct at the sight of strangers in our house.
Despite how amazing pet can be, all my experience with them wasn't exactly pleasant, because I was hurt on some occasions, not like they intentionally hurt me, it's just that watching some of them died can be devastating, it's like losing a part of you and your daily life, this hurt at a time makes me avoid going close to dogs again, for fear of them passing again and I would have to face same hurt again. But then that was when I was younger, now I'm wiser and know that death is inevitable for all living being, how much more dogs that have shorter lifespan compared to human. Being older doesn't mean I won't be hurt to watch them died at their old age If get one again, it only means even even though I'm hurt, I'll understand that that's life reality that's inevitable.
Talking about one of the hardest part of taking of having it taking care of pet, I'd say it's the responsibility that comes with it, from them being dependent on you, for not just shelter, but also food, healthcare, attention amongst many other things to name but few. This is particularly hard to deal with because it's not something you can chose to do at your own pace, sometimes the do things that needs immediate attention, else everything including them and your house would be messed up.
However, despite all these challenges, I still love dogs and would still definitely want to have them as a pet in the near future, because of the warmth and lovely atmosphere they bring to the home, I see pets, especially dogs as an opportunity to create lasting memories, just like I had while growing up, I'll love for my kids to have same experience.
