Generally, it is assumed that women are good or better cooks than men but I have found this not to be totally true based on my personal experience for over a decade now.
Please follow and pay attention as this will open your mind and it will worth the reading.
It is worthy of note to know that cooking is a skill and skills are learnt/acquired which can be improved by consistent daily practice until mastery is achieved. Also in reality, there are many ways of doing things and the more a person is opened to learn new things, the better he/she will become and that's why the right approach is to be a life-long learner as a human being.
Most women right from childhood learnt/acquired cooking skills firstly by observing their mothers in the kitchen and thereafter by participation through lending helping hand or assisting in one way or the other and this goes on daily for as long as possible till she becomes of age. The question is that what are the men doing that time? Why is it believed that cooking/kitchen is exclusively reserved for the women?

In continuation, so each day as a woman right from being a girl child to a young lady to a fully matured woman does this cooking daily and as she learns or observes from her mother or guardian depending, she will gain mastery and turns out to be a good cook. Mind you, by practice, she would have made some mistakes and these mistakes if learnt from makes her better the next available time/opportunity to cook. All these buttress my point that cooking is firstly a skill which can be learnt and acquired by observation, participation and practice in a consistent basis.
However, this trend changes as observed in some families that believes everyone must cook both male & female or even in some circles that the parents or guardian are into culinary (cooking) or catering services which involves every member of the family. By the active observation, participation and consistent practice, the male child who later will become a full grown man would over the time master cooking skills and be the best for it.
Furthermore, it should be noted that in some cultures where men cooks primarily as compared to other cultures based on believes, it was observed that those men does it well and stand out which corroborate the same point that cooking is a skill which can be learned or acquired by both men and women alike.
I was raised in a family which believes cooking can be done by anyone and I was taught cooking primarily by my father and also from my mother. I remembered in University where by my cooking prowness becomes everybody's friend including roommates and colleagues with awesome comments made by everyone. Also, I must say that this skill has helped me in my marriage as my wife is grateful I learnt this skill then as she always enjoy my meal whenever I cook.
I found cooking interesting and fascinating because I derive so much satisfaction in what I can cook by my hands because it will be to my taste and helps me even as I have a structured meal plan for adequate nourishment.
Finally, from reports and evidences littered over the internet, it has been observed that World's best/famous chefs are men because of innate ability of meticulousness, learning ability and anatomical/physiological make-up which I might not be able to go into details now.
Men are good cooks because cooking is a skill which can be learnt/acquired and mastered by practice. I hope this worth the reading right and you have learnt one or two things?
Thank you.
