Greetings!
Everyone to me should try and learn a skill as it would help us to have a back up in case our certificate failed us at the end of the day. One thing that I have gotten to know over the time is that skill acquisition is just the best and that there's no way we would not benefit from any skills learnt by us.
Having said so much about our skills and certificates, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive students community which is all about, “Should every student learn a skill?”
As for me, there's no other answer that I would give to this question than a Yes answer and this is because, if a student should learn a skill, he or she would be of a great advantage over his or her fellow colleagues and whenever there's no job for the certificate he or she might be carrying about, then his or her skills will definitely Make a way for him where there's no way.
Skill acquisition is one thing that should be a priority of a student in this our current dispensation as it would make us as students to be self employed and even create wealth gir ourselves and generations unlike before when people are always chasing after a salary job.
Today, people are now making it big and fast not just because of their certificate but because of their skills. So, in my own personal opinion, I would always advise those of us that still have the privilege as students to toll the path of acquiring skills so as for us to move fast in life and so as to create the needed generational wealth for ourselves.
In conclusion, I would also appeal to those in authority to make it compulsory for all students to acquire one skill or the other so as to boost our nation's economy.
