As someone rightly said: "There is no perfect man, we all only strive for perfection". There will always be a time when one has to overlook or let go of somethings for the sake of peace to reign and not for foolishness or stupidity. As we get matured in lifetime, we value peace than anything else and for the sake of peace we let go of somethings even the legitimate ones. That's why i believe it is good to live life prepared for such moments so as not to be too disappointed or frustrated because such moments will definitely come.
I remembered a time i had to let go of an unpleasant situation between me and the house agent in the house i once lived. I complained of a situation i didn't like about the accommodation even before move in to this apartment with a promise of it to be repaired. Day after day no repair was initiated talkless of been completed, i reached out to this agent constantly reminding him of the earlier agreement but yet, nothing was done. This was really a challenging and frustrating moment that I wish i can literally do something about it.
I just came to the resolution of fixing the needed repair myself even though I ought not to. I had to do this for two main reasons which are; to make for peace to reign and also, for my own convenience in the main time i was to stay there. This my choice affected me in that i had to spend money on the repair which legitimately i shouldn't but i just have to. On the long run, after my tenancy expired in that accomodation, i packed out with everything intact and no revenge at all just for the sake of peace.
This experience taught me that amidst hurt, i can choose to go for peace and not revenge or something else. Though painful, but chosing peace through personal sacrifice is a good decision. Also, i have learnt my lessons since then to ensure things are fine before moving in to any other accomodation and not just a promise lacking fulfilment. Interestingly, this same attitude or behavior is common between the so-called "house agents" as many don't care for the welfare of their clients if any complaint is brought to them after moving in.
Truly, choosing peace is indeed a sign of maturity and taking blames even for a just course isn't a sign of weakness but of strength indeed. It will always be good if everyone remembers the golden rule: "Do to others as you want them to do to you". Loving peace and acting right should be a priority to everyone. Finally, it's good to register it at the back of one's mind that it's not everything one will be claiming right for, some have to be overlooked just for peace to reign and not for weakness.
