Greetings to the sewing community today Monday starting off on the right foot, making a new publication, in this new year, hoping you are very healthy, and with a new week of many blessings for all, hand in hand with God, carrying out each project.
To start this week I made a set of shorts and flannel, which could be used daily for the house or as pajamas, since the fabric is very soft, flannel ribbed and soft color to combine with another flannel fabric in purple unicolor to give contrast.
Here I show you how I made it easy and simple, taking as a measure a flannel and a short, size M, to draw the pattern, and cut the fabric.
My materials:
1 meter of ribbed flannel fabric.
1/4 purple flannel fabric.
Patterns to size.
Measuring tape, pins, threads, sewing machine.
I make my pattern by cutting the flannel, with a round neck, short sleeves, and a strip for the edge of the sleeve, which I will glue as a design.
Then I cut the shorts without making seams on the sides, but cut the whole short, taking into account the front and the back. I will also cut a pocket 10cm wide by 12cm long, which I will only place on one side.
Now, having all these parts already cut to size, it's time to sew and assemble.
I start with the shorts, sewing the pocket by gluing its purple border. Then I place this pocket on the side of the shorts and machine stitch it.
Then I close the front and back straps, and then I close the bottom or leg straps, so I have the shorts assembled.
For the waistband, I cut a strip of 8cm high by 40cm wide, close it and sew it, and then I sew the seam allowance all over the waistband.
This short does not have elastic, as the fabric is quite flexible.
And for the hem I put a purple strip all around the edge.
This short was easy to put together, since cutting it this way is less sewing.
To close the flannel at the shoulders I put a strip of stiff fabric on the edge so that the fabric does not stretch when washing it, so it will keep its shape for much longer.
Then I put the sleeves, and I sewed their strip on the edge or colored border.
Once the sleeves are sewn, I proceed to close the flannel on the sides, and then make the hem.
I made this hem with the hemming machine foot, since it folds the edge of the fabric and is made with the zig-zag, so it will look better, like a fringe.
For the collar, I cut a 4cm wide strip that I closed and then sewed it, also overlocking the edge.
As it is a set that may also serve as pajamas, but I love it like this, fresh fabric, and although the explanation is easy to say, you can try it, very well without sleeves or a shorter short, it is a matter of taste of each one.

Saludos a la comunidad de costura hoy lunes empezando con buen pie, haciendo una nueva publicacion, en este nuevo año, esperando esten muy saludables, y con una nueva semana de muchas bendiciones para todos, de la mano de Dios, llevando a cabo cada proyecto.
Para empezar esta semana hice un conjunto de short y franela, que pudiera usarse de diario para la casa o como pijama, ya que la tela es muy suave, de franela acanalada y de color suave que combine con otra tela de franela en unicolor morado para darle contraste.
Aqui te enseño como lo hice facil y sencillo, tomando como medida una franela y un short, de talla M, para sacar el patron, y cortar la tela.
Mis materiales:
1metro de tela de franela acanalada.
1/4 de tela franela morada.
Patrones a la medida.
Cinta metrica, alfileres, hilos, maquina de coser.
Saco mi patron cortando la franela, con cuello redondo, y sus mangas cortas, y una tira para el borde de la manga, que pegare como diseño.
Luego corte el short sin hacerle costuras de los lados, sino que lo corte entero, tomando el cuenta el tiro del frente y de la parte trasera. Tambien corte un bolsillo de 10cm de ancho por 12cm de largo, que solamente lo colocare en un solo lado.
Ahora bien, teniendo todas estas partes ya cortadas a la medida, es hora de coser y armar.
Empiezo con el short, cosiendo el bolsillo pegandole su borde de color morado. Luego ubico este bolsillo al costado del short y lo coso a maquina.
Despues cierro los tiros tanto del frente y trasero, para luego cerrar la parte de abajo o de las piernas, y asi tener el short armado.
Para la pretina corto una tira de 8cm de alto por 40cm de ancho, la cierro y coso y luego paso la sobre costura por toda la pretina.
Este short no lleva elastica, ya que la tela que le coloque es bastante flexible.
Y para el ruedo le coloque una tira morada, por todo su borde.
Este short, fue facil armarlo, ya que al cortalo de esta manera es menos costura.
Para cerrar la franela en los hombros le puse en su borde una tira de tela rigida para que no se estire la tela en esta parte a la hora de lavarla, asi mantendra su forma, por mucho mas tiempo.
Luego le coloco las mangas, y a estas le cosi su tira en la orilla o borde de color morado.
Una vez cosidas las mangas, procedo a cerrar la franela de los lados, para luego hacerle el ruedo.
Este ruedo lo hice con el pie de maquina de dobladillo, ya que ella misma dobla la orilla de la tela y se hace con el zig-zag, asi quedara mejor, como un flequillo.
Para el cuello corte una tira de 4cm de ancho que cerre y luego la cosi, pasando tambien una sobre costura para asentar su borde.
Como es un conjunto que quizas tambien sirva de pijama, pero a mi encanta asi, tela fresca, y a pesar de que la explicacion es facil decirlo, lo puedes intentar, muy bien sin mangas o un short mas corto, es cuestion de gusto de cada quien.
Muy contenta de que hayas leido mi blog, y aunque las fotos no salieron tan nitidas como queria, quizas es el color de la tela que no se aprecia muy bien, pero hice todo lo posible, hasta la proxima,chau!
