Últimamente he estado trabajando en varios productos de costura, ya que decidí dedicarme un poco más de lleno a éste arte. Es por eso que quiero compartir con todos ustedes el tutorial de la confección de uno de mis proyectos, en este caso, "Un Short Con Bolsillos cargos en tono gris", muy versátil, el cual podemos utilizar en casa, para ir al mercado, a la playa o hasta para ir al gym, fabricado en tela jersey, la cual lo hace ser bastante cómodo, suave y fresco. Sin más preamámbulo, a continuación le muestro el paso a paso.

Hello, hello! How are you, my dear friends in this creative community @needleworkmonday? I’m so happy to be back with you, to learn from your tutorials, and for you to learn something from mine as well. Lately, I’ve been working on several sewing projects, since I decided to dedicate myself a little more fully to this art. That’s why I want to share with all of you a tutorial on how to make one of my projects—in this case, “Gray Cargo Shorts,” which are very versatile. You can wear them at home, to the market, to the beach, or even to the gym. They’re made from jersey fabric, which makes them very comfortable, soft, and breathable. Without further ado, here’s the step-by-step guide.

Para comenzar con la confección de éste short, lo primero que hice fue doblar mi tela en 2 y colocar sobre ésta, tanto el patrón delantero como el patrón posterior, de ésta manera obtendré las 2 piezas de adelante y las 2 piezas de atrás.

To start making these shorts, the first thing I did was fold my fabric in half and place both the front and back patterns on top of it. This way, I’ll have the two front pieces and the two back pieces.

Luego que saqué mi 2 piezas procedí a realizar una costura romana en el tiro delantero y el tiro posterior, la costura romana yo la realizo de la manera siguiente: Primero coso colocando las 2 piezas con el revés enfrentado, paso una pequeña costura de 0,5 cm y luego volteo y paso costura colocando las 2 piezas con los derechos enfrentados. Ésta misma técnica la aplico para la unión de los tiros tanto de las piezas delantera como los tiros de las piezas posteriores.

After cutting out my two pieces, I proceeded to sew a Roman seam on the front and back panels. I sew the Roman seam as follows: First, I sew the two pieces with their wrong sides together, sewing a small seam of 0.5 cm, and then I turn them over and sew the two pieces with their right sides together. I use this same technique to join the front and back panels.

Una vez que hice la unión de los tiros procedí a cocer las tapas de los bolsillos delantero.

Once I had sewn the panels together, I proceeded to sew the front pocket flaps.

Cuando terminé de hacer los bolsillos delanteros, procedí a colocar la pieza delantera sobre la pieza posterior con sus derechos enfrentados y pasé costura solo por los laterales, dejando aún sin costura las entre piernas, para poder pegar luego los bolsillos cargos.

Once I finished making the front pockets, I placed the front piece on top of the back piece with the right sides together and sewed only along the sides, leaving the crotch area unsewn so I could later attach the cargo pockets.

Para los bolsillos de los laterales, recorté dos rectángulos de 20×23 más dos rectángulos de 10×20, para las tapas de los bolsillos. Al rectángulo de 20×23 le hice una costura en el centro, ocupando un espacio de tela de 3 cm, para doblar y crear el detalle del centro del bolsillo, y para las tapas, solo doblé por la mitad, realice costuras en las orillas del revés y la desdoblé.

For the side pockets, I cut out two 20×23 rectangles and two 10×20 rectangles for the pocket flaps. I sewed a seam down the center of the 20×23 rectangle, using a 3-cm strip of fabric, to fold it over and create the pocket’s center detail. For the flaps, I simply folded them in half, sewed the edges on the wrong side, and unfolded them.

Seguidamente procedí a pegar los bolsillos, para esto coloqué el derecho de la orilla inferior del bolsillo, sobre el derecho del short a una distancia del ruedo de 5.5 cm, doblando de una vez las orillas de los laterales hacia dentro; Levanté el bolsillo y procedí a coser las orillas de los laterales y a pegar las tapas.

Next, I sewed on the pockets. To do this, I placed the right side of the pocket’s bottom edge against the right side of the shorts, 5.5 cm from the hem, folding the side edges inward all at once. I lifted the pocket and sewed the side edges, then sewed on the pocket flaps.

Ya ha colocado los bolsillos laterales ahora procedí a cocer las entrepiernas.

I've already sewn on the side pockets, so now I'm moving on to sewing the crotches.

Para hacer la pretina, corté una tira de 90 cm de largo y 12 cm de ancho, la cual uní por los extremos, dejando una pequeña abertura para sacar la trenza y luego, corté una pieza de elástico con la medida del contorno de cintura menos 3cm, para introducirlo en la tira de 90 cm y ésta quede fruncida.

To make the waistband, I cut a strip 90 cm long and 12 cm wide, sewed the ends together, leaving a small opening to pull the braid through, and then cut a piece of elastic to the length of my waist measurement minus 3 cm, so I could thread it through the 90-cm strip and gather it.

Finalmente pegué la pretina al contorno de cintura e introduje la trenza ajustadora.

Finally, I sewed the waistband to the waistline and inserted the drawstring.
