Welcoming the year 2022 full of hope, love, and gratitude.
Before ending the year of 2021 we all have faced the unending pandemic and one of the strongest typhoons that hit the Visayan region. It has challenged many of us and tested the faith of many.
But Filipinos are known to be resilient and faith has brought everyone to fight back regardless of what happened. Still, I'm praying and staying positive that those people who were severely affected by the typhoon will be able to continue their life and will be able to start little by little.
Everyone in the house is busy preparing for the new year's celebration. My Aunt and my sister together with my Niece and Nephew help to decorate the side where the table will be placed for the food.
While others are busy with decorating, I and my cousin are finalizing the things that we need to get from the grocery.
Time for food preparation and everyone woke up so early. My Aunt is always in charge when it comes to cooking. It is always her duty each time we have a celebration. While me, I was busy doing my nails. 😂
The most awaited part, everyone was busy setting up the table. My Aunt collects coins so she can throw them on the floor at exactly 12MN. It has been a Filipino tradition that we still preserve in our Province. It has been going on since I was a kid. They will collect coins and throw them and kids will be able to get the coins. They say that it is a sign of prosperity.
Here comes the most awaited part aside from the New year's Eve dinner and that's the fireworks 🎆.
My cousin and I agreed to buy some fireworks to delight the kids as they requested. My Aunt is against the idea of buying fireworks but we assure them that it is not something that can hurt us.
Aside from the fireworks, many people used their motorbikes and attached some casserole or any materials that can create noise and roam around the area.
This is the Prosperity bowl and this is how it looks like. We also added another bowl and surrounded by chocolates. I sent these photos to my friends and they thought that it was real money but I told them that we just photocopy them. 😂
But we are hoping that 2022 will abundant us with real money and not a photocopy. 😄😂
Indeed a great New Year for me. The fact that I was able to celebrate it with my family and was able to experience a tradition I have missed in the previous holidays since working in the City is the thing I am most grateful for.
Let us welcome 2022 with full of positivity aside from hope, love and gratefulness in our hearts. Let us all remember that no matter how difficult the challenges are, we must face them with a strong mind and faith.
