Greetings dear readers, today I give life and love to my blog with my entry in WE 139 of galenkp@galenkp in his weekend engagement in which he brought us very interesting topics, being the one I chose:

The Loss

Share your thoughts on loss: loss of physical or mental ability, freedom, people in your life, or loss of opportunities or possessions. How has the loss affected you and what have you personally done to mitigate the effects and move on? You must write 350 words or more and try to use photos you have taken yourself.

In my life I have had three important losses related to loved ones, causing me a feeling that at first was pain, emptiness, then resignation and later learning. Over time I learned to look at those losses with love and acceptance for what happened. Other losses have been driven by fate by making me change jobs, lifestyle, removals, personal interests, and distancing from very good friends who have left their mark remaining in my memories with pleasant feelings.

The loss of physical or mental capacity gives me chills

Just thinking about the loss of my physical or mental faculty scares me, because what I want the most is to live and be happy and for that I need all my humanity, but in the face of this convulsive and divided daily life is at risk, from where we will look at it. it is impossible not to think for a few moments in a moment of physical or mental loss. When I look at elderly people, I look at them and think how I would like to reach that age, with my faculties intact, being independent and secure in my path.

Admiring, I perceive those who resist letting the years be their executioner, showing themselves as an example of strength and empowerment to continue their healthy and happy lives until the end of the road. But there are also others who, due to environmental and psychosocial factors, fall into processes of disability, manipulation, depression and control, whose states lead to the detriment of the psychophysical health of both the elderly and those around them.

I believe that inviting the elderly to focus on a thought of well-being is ideal, but it is an arduous task, since most of them are determined by beliefs and mandates that the system established for them and that have been beneficial, but many cling to their idioms and guiding them to perceive a healthier way of life according to their needs without psychological support and outside of a therapeutic environment, is a difficult issue to address.

Here is a terrifying anecdote

Thank God a painful loss did NOT happen

My parents are currently sixty-year-olds with sometimes unalterable habits and beliefs, one of the habits they usually do at the beginning of the year is to renew documents related to the family sepulcher, and this year could not be the exception, that is why one of my siblings offered to take them to the cemetery office any day of the week, but my father for presenting differences with my brother for the moment did not accept the proposal, and decided to invite my mother to go together to the place by public transport, thus avoiding rolling your vehicle that was planned for sale.

Once the diligence was done when they came home on public transport, three subjects who were already inside the unit with firearms requested silence by closing doors, windows and asked the driver not to stop driving, all being under express kidnapping. They took my father's money from her, they didn't even look at my mother, she was clinging to her document folder praying in a low voice sitting on her phone and my father's phone that she quickly managed to hide.

They comment that it was a long journey between threats, at the end, after traveling the highway that crosses the city of Caracas from East to West, the attackers got off in a vacant lot, intimidating so that no one would make a sound. From there, the very shaken driver told his passengers that he would return to a crowded area so that everyone could reach his destination.

Demoralized, my parents came home thanking life for one more day, my terrified mother does not want to ride public transport anymore and my father gave up on the idea of selling his vehicle. Unfortunately things like these happen in this world and we don't know if within our bond tomorrow there will be a loss.

My parents lead a life marked by effort, work, money and commitments for the family in general, as older brothers they have assumed responsibilities, this being one of their motivations to live, they have decided to fulfill their adulthood clinging to continue giving their all to everyone. acting according to their models and beliefs of life that for it is law.

My mother has been operated 5 times for different pathologies, today she is in good health despite her constant fear of getting sick, she worked as a dental assistant and today from home she dedicates her time to caring for her sisters at a distance, nephews, children and husband. My father worked for many years as a driver in a private company and after a reduction in staff, he dedicated himself to working with his vehicle in private transfer services, today he remembers and longs for those times of vitality and economic prosperity that gave him stability and happiness.

Seeing them in their wishes for health and eternal wealth moves me and I wish they had a more harmonious life dedicated to being happier focusing on reasons to live that generate well-being, my brothers and I provide them with what is possible, but sometimes it seems not to be enough because we want to give them more, however, we have determined that we all need peace of mind, so as a team we make it easy for them to feel comfortable, loved and safe.

Losing my parents, my beloved niece and nephew or one of my siblings would be a great pain that I do not feel I will never be prepared for, however, in the face of this circumstance I have no control. And as for me, what I primarily do not want to lose: is the sense of love for life, losing my ability to be happy and live fully every day with the creative resources I possess, that would be my death. Having the freedom to decide how I want to live my current and sixty-year-old times, I visualize myself in complete harmony and health doing what I like without economic, material and affective ties, that is living in freedom with how much or little life gives me provide.
