Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great week! I tell you that in our walk around the city of Katowice (Poland), Pawel and I also visited a very nice pub called: the Herring Embassy, yes, just like the fish, but believe me inside the place it doesn't smell fishy at all, in fact I came to tell you about our nice experience there even though we were only there for a very short time as we wanted to continue walking around this day, but a stop was necessary and this place was a good decision.
Al entrar nos sorprendió el diseño del lugar, una grande imagen con las partes del arenque y otras decoraciones muy lindas, además los ladrillos y algunas plantas le daban un toque genial. A la hora que fuimos no habían muchas personas allí, pero el lugar es grande y tienes varias mesas disponibles para atender a sus clientes tanto adentro como afuera del lugar, Pawel y yo nos acercamos a la barra para ordenar lo que queríamos beber.
Upon entering we were surprised by the design of the place, a large image with the parts of the herring and other very nice decorations, plus the bricks and some plants gave it a great touch. At the time we went there were not many people there, but the place is big and you have several tables available to serve their customers both inside and outside the place, Pawel and I approached the bar to order what we wanted to drink.
En la barra nos dimos cuenta que tienen una variedad de cervezas a diferentes precios, además otras bebidas con alcohol y sin alcohol, Pawel ya estaba decidido por una cerveza y aunque a mi también me provocaba una cerveza por el calor que estaba haciendo este día en Katowice por supuesto que no tomé una (porque estoy embarazada) y elegí una limonada muy fría, el bartender o el hombre que nos atendió en la barra fue realmente muy amable, incluso me dejó probar la limonada para verificar si así estaba bien para mí a lo cual dije que sí.
At the bar we noticed that they have a variety of beers at different prices, plus other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, Pawel was already decided on a beer and although I was also provoked by a beer because of the heat it was getting this day in Katowice of course I did not take one (because I am pregnant) and I chose a very cold lemonade, the bartender or the man who served us at the bar was really very nice, he even let me try the lemonade to verify if it was ok for me to which I said yes.
En total pagamos 32 zlotys o aproximadamente 8 dólares por las dos bebidas, la limonada costó 12 zlotys. Pawel y yo decidimos sentarnos afuera donde estan las grandes sombrillas para refrescarnos un poco pero como les dije antes el lugar es muy grande y tiene varias mesas con sillas y muebles para sus clientes, y aunque es un pub también tienen ofrecen algunas tapas polacas y por supuesto con arenque pero Pawel y yo ya teniamos decidido comer en otro lugar, así solo ordenamos las bebidas y nos sentamos a conversar.
In total we paid 32 zlotys or about 8 dollars for the two drinks, the lemonade cost 12 zlotys. Pawel and I decided to sit outside where the big umbrellas are to cool off a bit but as I told you before the place is very big and has several tables with chairs and furniture for their customers, and although it is a pub they also offer some Polish tapas and of course with herring but Pawel and I had already decided to eat somewhere else, so we just ordered the drinks and sat down to chat.
Sin duda, aunque no estuvimos mucho tiempo allí, este lugar es increíble, con un ambiente genial, es decir, música con volumen adecuado, y un servicio muy bueno. Tal vez cuando volvamos a Katowice visitemos este lugar de nuevo para probar otras bebidas y quizá un poco de arenque y por supuesto para seguir disfrutando aquí, pues como ven en la foto abajo me sentía muy a gusto. No doubt, although we were not there for long, this place is amazing, with a great atmosphere, i.e. music with adequate volume, and very good service. Maybe when we come back to Katowice we will visit this place again to try other drinks and maybe some herring and of course to keep enjoying here, because as you see in the picture below I felt very comfortable.
