Surely it has happened to you that looking at the photos you have stored in your computer you come to feel nostalgic for some moments lived that you would like to repeat, some of those moments involve great people or activities that you loved to do but you haven't done since for one reason or another. Has it happened to you?
That happened to me today while I was watching some pictures to put some order in my computer, I found a folder called Desserts, I opened it and started to travel through the years looking at these sweet memories. I want to share some of them with you.
2014 - Belle
I remember that I learned to make cakes because I love to eat them, in my family I have an aunt and cousins who make exquisite cakes so I thought that maybe that heritage was in my veins. However, I never thought that I would find myself making more elaborate cakes. However, one day the wife of a cousin whose daughter is my goddaughter told me to make the cake for that beautiful little girl who is now 10 years old.
So I dedicated myself as a novice to make a Disney Bella cake, I always like to challenge myself, it was a cake that took me a lot of hours, I learned a lot about structure and fondant modeling making this cake.*
2014 - My Cake
I remember I was very excited to make a cake for myself with flowers, fondant, and buttercream. Joining some techniques in one cake. I also added some tulle on the base and some fabric ribbons.
At that time I was watching self-absorbed video tutorials on fondant flowers or gum paste on YT, I looked up a recipe and started working on it, I loved the result!
2018 - The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The years went by and I continued to make cakes mainly for family birthdays although with some I made some money. In the year 2018, a beautiful little cousin was turning his first year and his mom asked me to make a cake about the character of a story: The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, I remember the dedication I put to each drawing of the cake to make it as close as possible to the images of the story. It was a nice experience!
For this occasion I made a drip cake for a hotel pool party, this cake had a special difficulty because I had to locate the candies, cookies, and chocolates in a striking way and avoid eating them all while making it...
Today I no longer make cakes like those, the price of the ingredients has increased a lot and there are other priorities. However, I still put my heart into them so that they have a delicious flavor and can offer sweet bites that make those who don't like them happy. *These have been some of my sweet memories! *
