Salir a pasear.

Life is too short to live bitter, depressed or in a bad mood. We would all like to be always cheerful, happy and very happy, but life has different nuances and sometimes you face situations in which it is very difficult not to suffer emotional downturns, sadness or any manifestation of stress.
The above has happened to us or happens to all of us, sometimes more often than we want, but the challenge is not there, but in how we face these difficulties and turn them around, mitigate them or overcome them. I believe that when we manage to reverse this, we grow as human beings and we face life in a better way.
In my case, I am a very positive woman, I try to see the bright colors of life, but I have faced very difficult situations that have changed my life and have made me rethink my way of seeing things. Every time unpleasant, sad or unfortunate things happen to me I ask myself the questions that perhaps many of us ask ourselves:
How do I get out of this situation?
What should I do so that I don't remain sad, desolate and/or depressed?
What activities should I do?
Before I continue, I would like to invite @osismi and
@nony to participate in this initiative.
In the life of each and every one of us we have received blows that have hurt us a lot, have made us depressed and emotionally hurt us a lot. In my case, the loss of my parents or the death of one of my sisters have been some of the most terrible things that have happened to me. However, in news like this you assume that it is part of the natural process called life and you deal with it in a more natural way. It hurts, but you understand.
However, there are other things that happen that have nothing to do with the loss of a loved one that do terrible damage to us if we don't get out of that state because it does damage to our health that becomes irreversible.
These other things can be: The change of work or school, the loss of something valuable, not meeting a work goal, the pressure of everyday life, not being able to please yourself in things you would like. I could go on and on mentioning things that can irritate us. When I am faced with situations like these I always ask myself the same question:
Is this worth being angry about?
At other times I say to myself: If I had 60 minutes left to live I would waste them on being sad, upset, depressed.
For such reasons I have, like many, some protocols, exercises, rules or rites, to get out of this nefarious, evil and negative state that is depression. Here I share with you:
Talking to my two children. Here is something that hurt me a lot and that I turned from weakness into emotional strength. The issue is that my children do not live with me and are outside the country where I live. For any mother this is very hard. When I have an emotional low I call them and they feed me, fill me up and heal me. Talking and hearing from them is my greatest remedy against depression.
Doing Yoga activities. I learned this with a group of friends and the truth is that it gives me an incredible tranquility, inner peace and serenity. In addition to the above, it also helps my health.
Reading. This is one of my preferences, as a Spanish Literature teacher I cultivated this passion for books that has never left me. When I am in a depressive state, being in the world of wonders that literature transmits brings me back to my natural state.
Dancing and listening to music. If there is one thing that has a positive effect on me, it is dancing. Besides, listening to music and singing brings me to an incredible state of well-being.
Going to the beach. The beach transmits me a serenity that just by being near the sea my soul becomes calm, tranquility and serenity.
Going for a walk. Although I am a woman who loves her house and home life, going out for a walk or shopping nourishes me spiritually and helps me to get out of a state of negativity.
There are many ways to get out of a stressful, depressive state or emotional slump, but, I consider mental strength to be an important element.
Another aspect that I consider fundamental is to try to laugh. There is a saying that laughter is health and I particularly believe it is true because laughter cheers the soul and heals the heart.
So much for my modest participation in this initiative.
Thank you for reading me and I thank @charjaim for this important topic.
