Waffles are not and have never been better than pancakes. A well made pancake can change your life, but a well made waffle is essentially the same as a poorly made waffle. Pancakes support better toppings, they’re easier to make really well, don’t require any special cookware, you can make more faster, and on and on and on. People say “oh but waffles have the little pockets to keep the syrup in,” but you’re just saturating your waffle with syrup.
