I was watching YouTube videos while I was eating lunch, and I stumbled across this one video on a YouTube channel named "Life With Melonie." Melonie has a foreign accent. Therefore, I don't know if she's living in the United States or where she has her studio where she creates her content for YouTube.

Anyhow, I watched Melonie's video about adult children going no-contact with their parents. I have to give this women credit where credit is due. She was accurate about how child abuse can cause a domino effect throughout the generations. This video was a wealth of information. The only problem I had with it was that it had one major flaw. Before I point out where that major flaw was, I'll let you watch the video for yourself; and perhaps you may be able to identify it before I explain it further on herein.

Melonie Shows Clips Of Adult Children And Parents Of Adult Children Talking About Adult Children That Go No-Contact With Their Parents

How Melonie didn't know what this one parent meant about bad therapists is beyond my comprehension. Psychiatric abuse as well as misconduct throughout the mental-health profession have been exploding throughout the past four decades here in our nation. In any event, that is not the major flaw in her video.

The major flaw in Melonie's video is that she does the disservice of comparing Gen Xrs ("baby busters") with baby boomers, even equating both generations with each other. Baby busters don't even like baby boomers, and they hated having them as their bosses when they first entered the work force. It's like comparing apples and oranges.

The elephant in the room here is that baby busters have many more characteristics in common with millennials than they do with baby boomers. It is an insult to baby busters for anyone to associate them with baby boomers, because baby boomers grew up in times of prosperity; whereas baby busters had to confront the poisoned tentacles of Reaganomics during their formative years and a major recession during their early adult years.

Most parents of baby busters were from the Silent Generation. Therefore, baby busters suffered the most physical and emotional abuse at the hands of one parent or both parents out of any other generation. We only have to look at the example of Drew Barrymore in terms of her relationship with her late father, John Drew Barrymore.

Drew Barrymore was born in 1975. The late John Drew Barrymore was born in 1936. He was from the Silent Generation. His daughter, Drew Barrymore, is from Generation X.

If you read the book titled Little Girl Lost, you will come across a number of incidents in which the late Mr. Barrymore became violent and abusive with his daughter, Drew Barrymore. Fortunately, Ms. Barrymore had her own money from the time she was 7 years old so that her father couldn't inflict financial abuse upon her in the long run.

Many baby busters never got married or started a family at all, because they didn't want to give their abusive parents grandchildren that would likely fall victim to the abuse of these baby busters' abusive parents. It could explain one of the reasons that the baby-birth rate here in the United States is at an all-time low.

It was the baby busters that invented all the computer technology that both millennials and Gen Zrs got to grow up on and utilize to make their own lives easier. Most baby boomers are technologically challenged in the area of computer science, whereas baby busters keep abreast of the latest computer technology.

Melonie? If you're reading my article, allow me to say this. You make some very interesting, high-quality videos. I'm not going to take that praise away from you. However, you need to get your generations straight.

I honestly believe that baby busters make much better parents than baby boomers do. When baby busters were teenagers, they looked healthier than baby boomers did as teenagers inasmuch as fewer baby busters were into drug abuse as compared with baby boomers during their respective formative years. Baby busters were the latchkey kids of the 1980s and the 1990s. Baby boomers got everything they wanted handed to them on a silver platter when they were growing up.

Baby busters make unselfish parents, because they actually experienced what doing without was really like, whereas most baby boomers got guaranteed a luxury car from their parents on their sixteenth birthday and a fully paid college education courtesy of their parents. Baby busters saw no stigma in putting off marriage and family until later on in life or not getting married and starting a family at all. It could explain why many baby busters currently have small children that are all under 10 years of age.

On the other hand, baby boomers felt it was a competitive thing to get married after high school before age 22 and become parents. They pressured their own kids into doing the same thing as them.

Baby busters always questioned the Puritanical Establishment. Baby boomers as teenagers questioned the Puritanical Establishment, but then they sold themselves out to the Puritanical Establishment later on in life.

Most baby busters are compassionate individuals, whereas I have known some really snaky baby boomers throughout my life that will stab you in the back for no reason at all when you're not looking. Heck! Baby busters themselves have to deal with no-contact parents that sever all ties with them for the stupidest reasons you could ever imagine.

Baby busters will feel tempted to tell others that their no-contact parent or parents are dead in that same event. If that parent is older than 90 years of age, it makes it easier for them to get away with that excuse for not mentioning them.

Baby busters have to deal with greedy, selfish parents from the Silent Generation that hoard all the family wealth and viciously disinherit their adult children for the most outrageously frivolous reasons. It adds insult to injury when an abusive parent disinherits their baby-buster adult child.

It is worse for the older half of the baby busters when they have an abusive parent that seems to live forever and ever. Somehow abusive parents from the Silent Generation have a propensity to live well past 90 years old, even past 100 years old. It's like that old Spanish proverb that says that bad weeds never die. In its original Spanish, the proverb goes, "Las hierbas malas nunca mueren."

When a baby buster's abusive parent does die, usually that parent gets the best funeral that money can afford. After a baby buster attends that parent's funeral, then they must deal with the dread of possibly finding out that they have been left out of that parent's Last Will And Testament at the reading of it.

I strongly support elected officials passing laws that would ban parental testamentary freedom in every jurisdiction of the United States. That is, make it illegal everywhere in our so-called land of milk and honey for parents to cut their children out of their will under any circumstances. Most Spanish-speaking cultures and most French-speaking cultures got it right. Why can't the United States get it right?

I could go on and on with a list of how baby busters are diametrically different from baby boomers, but I think most of you get my point. I don't want for there to be a war between the generations. I never identify which generation I am from whether it be Generation Z, the Millennial Generation, or whatever generation, because I don't want people judging me by which demographics I belong to.

At the same time, I don't want anyone getting one generation confused with another generation. Each generation has its own set of strengths and flaws.

I realize that the Hive blockchain has members from likely just about every generation, and it is not my intention to insult any generation. Nonetheless, there are simply certain quirks about each generation that cannot be overlooked. Therefore, one should not mistake one generation for another in terms of those same quirks.

Generation X has been receiving rude awakenings all their lives. Most baby boomers, on the other hand, couldn't care less about whom they hurt. They're very poor at taking accountability for their actions in both the corporate world and in the world of child-rearing. All the illegal drugs in the 1960s and the early 1970s must have burned their brain circuits dead.

The baby boomers may be credited as the most educated generation, but they are not most common-sense generation of them all. Baby busters, on the other hand, received most of their education from the school of hard knocks. So, I ask that everyone, especially content creators on YouTube, stop comparing baby busters with baby boomers. They are not one and the same generation.
