the sunset viewed from fagervika
we were relaxing at home after dinner enjoying the unseasonally pleasant evening. across the fjord the soft rays of the sun lit up the top of the hill. my friend said that when the sun shines on that hill like now there will be a great sunset. only problem is that we cannot see it from here. we are a little late already but if we hurry we can drive to fagervika and view it there.
even though we drove off in the car in seconds flat, by the time we arrived fagervika the sun had dipped below the horizon. but no worries, the show was far from over
there are several inhabited islands protecting these waters from the open ocean
the closest are Hugla and the relatively flat Løkta behind which the sun set
the islands block the view of the sun sinking into the sea but you won't hear me complaining about it on a night like this.
farther out to sea to the north is Tomma
off to both sides the colors are more subtle
like here around Dønna. there are ferries to the islands and we plan on taking a couple.
but for now we are delighted taking in the scene here.
and what a scene it is.
