Hebrews 12:15-17 The Esau Syndrome makes people profane. A profane person neither respects nor fears God. He may claim to be a Christian, but his lifestyle is characterized by sin and compromise. Such people treat God as their errand boy that they can send at will to bring them breakthroughs. They make jests with the Name of Jesus, crack jokes with the blood of Jesus, and make funny comments about the man of God.Haven't you heard of armed robbers dry-fasting and
asking God for a successful robbery operation? Or
prostitutes bringing Olive oil to be prayed on for
their business to prosper? Or Christians who sit in
front of their television sets and laugh over
blasphemous things said on home videos about Jesus and His Church? These are the Esau Syndromes the Bible warns us against.Several years ago, a lady, who claimed to believe the grace of God upon my life, came to my office to be
prayed for. According to her, she was trusting God
for a major breakthrough in her business. The Holy
Spirit restrained me from praying and when I probed
as to the type of business she did, she confessed she was a drug baron. Profanity makes sinners turn God
into their errand boy. We must watch against this.
The fear of God needs to be restored back into our
lives.Prayer:
Lord, restore your essential fear into my life and your Church in Jesus' Name.
