Well, that was somewhat expected. Remember what I said about the "quiet ones"? That upcoming game against Ohio State is starting to look bleak for Penn State. That's all right, though. The Nittany Lions will still qualify for a good bowl game this year.
Have you ever gotten to the point that you are so tired of holding a position somewhere, and you decided to quit? Yup, I felt a lot like that recently. It might have something to do with age, or the burn out is finally catching up to me.
The college me would have been able to tank through everything without a second thought. Unfortunately, I am no longer in my 20's. I do miss that part of my life, enjoying my prime.
To be frank, this is more personal than anything to do with work and whatnot. I quit a few admin positions in some gaming servers because I did not feel I have the time to devote to them any longer. That's also what happens when you have more family responsibilities to consider.
I find myself starting to take naps again. The last time this was a common occurrence was back in the last stages of my university career. Naps were the only sleep I got back then. These days, I would have my night's sleep and then some.
It's a surprise that I kept up with what I have been doing on Steem. In some ways, the rewards from posting, etc. seem to justify them. In truth, most of us here would more than likely do better by putting our money in Bitcoin and ignore the drama here.
Time management is definitely something I have been working on this quarter. It's funny how, with age, there seems to be less and less time available to get everything needed done. For example, I meant to get our carpets cleaned in the summer. Well, that didn't happen until last week. So, I'm at least 3 months behind schedule.
Of course, I noted that my interest over time also changed. When I worked for broadcasting back in college, I was 100% into sports. In fact, I was able to predict the final scores of a few March Madness since I watched so much sports as part of my job.
These days, I hardly care about them, except checking up on teams I root for. I watched games back then, now I'd rather spend time looking at some highlights and stats. Then, I would piece together what happened. After all, most of the teams I root for have won the highest title possible in their respective sports. Some multiple times in the last 5 years.
I hope I'm not going through a mid-life crisis. I'm not quite at that point in my life yet, age-wise. It's a little late for my "quarter-life crisis", so I'm about a third way through. Is there a word for that?
The nice thing about shedding off some extra items on my usual to-do list is that I felt burdens lifted from me. I cannot begin to describe the feeling of relief I felt when I dropped some of the extra obligations in life.
In theory, I can now focus on the ones that are more important. I can't be everywhere even if I wanted to. Here's hoping that I made the correct choices.
