There is a plague roaming free on earth in today's society, it grows from within and lay waste to everything it comes in contact with. We have pretended for so long like it is not there, feign ignorance to it, hoping it will go away eventually but it didn't. It used to be considered an insignificant issue, it barely makes news but now, we can no longer hide from it anymore. It reach have spread far and beyond, reaching our sons, daughters, uncle, aunties, mothers and even fathers, no one is safe from it anymore.
What plague am I referring to, it is sexual immorality. Any time it strikes, we tend to find excuses for it, just to justify the action of the perpetrators but it is never the source of the issue. I saw the topic of this prompt and I said, "finally, let's talk about this, let's talk about this vermin that plagues the minds of many".
Parents will tell their children, dress appropriately, hoping it might help. Hoping it might save them from the sight evil doers, men and women who take pride and pleasure in devouring the innocence of the innocent. But does it really helps? how many has it saved? I'm not saying improper dressing might not also add to it but it just a fuel to the burning fire, we can't ignore the fact that the fire is already burning. They already harbor the thoughts, whatever clothing is, is just something that adds source to it.
Does a lion care if it's prey is clothed or not, hidden or not, it devours anything in its path. People have definitely advocated against indecent dressing, we believed it was the cause but it was not. People's lack of self control, animalistic behavior is finally taking control of their human nature. In truth, both the clothed and those that dress half naked are both getting violated. It doesn't really matter what you wear, or which gender you are, the act of immorality has become public menace.
There is no justification for it any longer, people just prefer to play out their fantasies by devouring others. Innocent kids with no knowledge of the world's cruelty, get caught in the crossfire and become traumatized for life. Becoming victims of their circumstances, wishing they knew better, but what could possibly prepare the victims for whatever they have experienced? If you say it is due to indecent dressing, you might be right but what about those that are fully clothed, covering every ounce of their skin and yet, they are defiled, violated, tainted and some are so unlucky that they lose their lives in the act.
So what will you say about those ones, is it still about clothing? not necessarily. Some people have just lost every bit of humanity in them. We are higher animal indeed but for some, the animal in them have taken the wheels, driving their minds towards commiting abominable acts. There is no suitable justification for this crime, no solution for the victims, no end to this abominations or else we purge this act of indecency out of ourselves and take control from the animal in us.
