Never Get Angry With Food
No matter how angry you are with your parents never say I won't eat your food again. The last time I tried that I almost died.
My parents especially my mother can be really annoying sometimes, she nags at every little thing I do. Growing as a teenager I needed space, I need to explore, I need to do things my own way but this woman won't let me be.
She talks over everything, even the way I walk, can you imagine? It's almost like she still wants to bathe me, put on clothes on me and tell me where to go and where not to go. Gosh! I am eighteen, can't she see that I am an adult now?
It was those days I knew what it really means by no matter how old you are, you would still be a child before your parents. The whole thing was getting on my nerves, I spoke to my friends about it and they said I should be patient. But see, she doesn't do what she does to me to my elder sisters. Am I not human? Why must I be the only one to be the baby forever?
Well, i choose to be the good boy, I took everything, and mom keeps making me look like a baby every Blessed day even in the midst of my friends and the thing was silently eating me up. I said I would react one day. I would make her know that I am grown up now. I am only waiting for an opportune time.
You know down here, we don't dare respond to our parents while they are talking to us. It's not as if we can't talk, but I will advise you to just put your face down and keep it moderate not frowning completely and not smiling either, this is a friendly advise. I will tell you why.
If you smile when your parents are scolding you, you are in trouble, you will hear them say, so you mean what I am saying is not serious that you are smiling? Am I your mate? Has your disobedience gotten to this level? Before you say anything you will see your self already rolling on the ground and screaming. At that point you wouldn't need anyone to adjust your facial looks for you.
On the other hand, if you frown , you hear the parents say, oh!! You are frowning at me right? So you mean I can't correct you again? Look at this child, at this point just know that you are finished. So advisably, keep your face moderate. Don't smile, don't frown be in between, don't say I didn't tell you.
I have studied my parents and I know all these, but I really need to be the adult that I am, they say if you are an adult, you will have freedom. I am eighteen but I still receive those things from my parents. I am tired.
One fateful day, early in the morning, momma cooked a very delicious meal, and when I got into the kitchen to get mine, she shouted , why would you fetch my soup like that, do you know how expensive things are in the market recently? Gosh! I felt so bad and then I remembered what I read online, independent adults don't eat their parents food. They fend for themselves. On recalling that I dropped the food and told her, enough is enough, I won't eat your food again, hence forth I will fend for myself and I walked out in slow-mo with my shoulders up.
Ideally she was supposed to pound hell out of me for being that rude but I was surprised she just smiled and carried the food. Remember I didn't eat anything yet that morning. I strolled out of the house visit a friend and stayed until evening. I was so unlucky, my friend didn't cook food in their house through my stay
When I got back home, I was still feeling boss, there was still food but I went into the room and lay down until they finished everything. Around 8:00pm I went to the kitchen and took two glasses of water and returned back. After some minutes I went again and this time around I check the pots because my intestines were almost at the point of breaking into pieces but the pots were empty.
My eyes turned red, I took another glass of water and went to bed, at around 12:00 Am sleep was no where to be found again and it was as if the worm in my stomach were finally eating the last intestines I have. In my mind I already concluded that I was going to die. Beloved I screamed louder than I have ever done in my life.
When everyone came to see what was wrong they saw me lying on the ground holding my stomach. What happened they asked? Words were not coming forth, my body was shaking. Everyone told me sorry and left telling me the will get me drugs when the day broke. I had to struggle between life and death that night.. I don't even remember how the day broke, guess what? The next morning, I was the first person at the kitchen to get breakfast. Mom looked at me and laughed, no one advised me to apologized. Since then i entered into an everlasting covenant of peace with food. We can fight blood but I will still eat that food. Food is not the enemy here..
