Am having some birthday thoughts as I step into a new year. This past year of my life certainly hasn't been easy but it has been quite eventful. I had some good wins in love and life, and some setbacks, especially with my finances. All in, it has been quite an eventful year. As always, the past is history now and we can only look towards the future. Someone once told me in my earlier years to act on the slightest conviction because it is difficult, now I believe impossible to predict the future. I wish I had listened.
The future isn't always forgiving to the inactions of the past. I do think about what lies ahead in several areas of my life and the places I worry most are those where I have stalled on taking action, not where I may have taken the wrong step. I wonder if I've done enough to deserve better, or if I could have been better disciplined, more desperate and move driven. The results are obviously coming around having spent around 3 decades on Earth now, and I certainly don't quite feel like am there yet.
I am inspired greatly by the actions of people, a lot more than their words. The Hive chain has been a source of inspiration for me especially with those who keep this community running with eyes on the future. The rewards are slow and steady and the future uncertain but they don't care. They've chosen action and growth while shelving worry aside. I wish I could worry less, but I don't. My fears are especially compounded by situations beyond me that directly or indirectly affect me. I do practice a great deal if stoicism, but it doesn't always work.
My finances are a big part of my concerns. I sometimes doubt am giving it my all as I struggle for financial independence. Am not luxurious or hedonistic in any way but I simply don't want to have to struggle to afford some of the little, basic things of life. Well, am not lazy and continue to strive every single day even as I hope for a big break. When I think about the role crypto might play in all this, am grateful because it has already played quite a significant role in teaching me several life lessons on patience, consistency, seed time and harvest.
Conclusion
This coming year I'll also teach myself more contentment. I've stopped comparing my situation with that of others already. After all, no experiences are the same, and nobody can predict the future, least of all me.
