This is kind of stating the obvious but for the few who may be having doubts or second guesses about the future of steem, I want us to remind ourselves that we never expected the road to be easy.
Besides the obvious money grabbers, everyone who's here probably should have two things in mind.
The first directly affects our activity on the platform, which is likely a counter negative for any platform to survive. If we only rate steem when the going is great, then chances are there won't be too many great periods for us.
No one is entirely innocent of reactionary tendencies, but I think we need to balance our activity levels when the times are rough...to about the same as we would do when things are better for a really strong platform.
Secondly, what steem is trying to do is somewhat revolutionary, are we're trying to do it using a medium that isn't trusted or widely accepted with the mainstream World.
No doubt that the rough patches would come later, and more are likely ahead - especially with some stiff competition and resistance from the masses, but I believe the more we weather the storm, the more likely we overcome.
That's why I want us to try and think long term - am talking 5 to 10 years time.
Continue those conversations, build the Friendships and pursue those causes.
Every friendship, every movement spent here will eventually count... We just need to weather the storm.
