Inflation can be a real stinger. A sharp and unexpected increase in the prices of commodities can quickly unsettle an individual and for others might be a poverty sentence. Much of the developed World doesn't have too much to worry about inflation due to the relative stable nature of their economies, but even they are not immune to unexpected spikes in prices.

As we have seen, unexpected events can have severe global consequences. The two biggest examples in recent memory are the Covid pandemic and the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Problems arise at every turn even when no one wishes for them. Who knows what the next major economic shock will be? A banking crisis? Real estate or perhaps another unforeseen man-made disaster. The uncertainty surrounding the global economy should keep everyone at the edge of their seats.

Everyone is probably more pessimistic about the government's ability to cover them in a financial crisis since the Covid pandemic. Depending on your country, that grading scale can go from A to F very fast, but even the excellent administrators cannot fully insure the financial future of their citizens for a sustained period of time.

Need it More

If you live in a developing or crisis ridden country, then you're probably not a stranger to inflation. Coupled with already low per capita incomes, this deadly combination of low purchasing power and high cost of goods can quickly erode quality of life. We can literally see tons of people who work extremely hard just to buy food. The biggest financial constrain one can face externally is of their environment, but luckily with the coming of crypto it no longer has to be so.

Crypto is not just a potential solution to solving the problems that arises from environmental constraints, it is a necessity. When your ability to earn and sustain a decent quality of life at a local level is being tested, then we must evolve to reasoning on a global level. I am actually surprised more developing countries are not utilizing the opportunity.

The drawbacks may be potent enough to discourage us in the short term though. It is really difficult to choose between taking care of immediate needs and thinking long term when there is not much to take from in the first place. The price uncertainty doesn't help matters much especially for those with much to lose.

Notwithstanding, crypto won't be so attractive if it was squarely means for the bourgeoisie. or really rich. Its nature instead affords everyone the opportunity to invest in bits until a sustainable goal is attained. Knowing fully well that you have an investment immune to the local uncertainties of your environment is good enough for some peace of mind.
