For those crypto stakeholders who actively share their opinions, investments and decisions with those who are outside the space or in the fringes, it is often a chore defending some 'insane' decisions.
Many outsiders do not have a firm grasp of what is actually going on here, although times are changing. Some still view the space as an elaborate ponzi scheme so their reaction is simply to 'take profits while you can' before it all come crashing down.
Of course, we are not helped by greedy participants and newbie entrants who are actively looking to profit from quick, massive pumps and dumps without sparing a thought for value creation. Such people are quickly sighted by those on the fringes and their arguments sometimes can be quite compelling for those who have any reason to doubt their investment in any of the blockchain projects.
It is for this reason for example, that some people (and I know at least one here) would rather keep their crypto portfolios away from family and friends. Those who actively share this side of them though put themselves in a position for potential ridicule during the downtimes and it isn't the very best position to be tempted and made to feel like an idiot despite knowing what a treasure the blockchain is.
Remain Foolish
There are not many ways to explain the complex World of crypto to newbies that will make the reason for playing long term in the face of quick profits make sense. When the chips are down, the best thing to do is accept the inevitability of people doubting and stick with a decision based on instinct and sound information.
Even in this space, many projects are going to fail and that is why we keep reiterating that people DYOR. It is easy to look down on a project due to one reason or the other, however the really difficult part is on the other side of the spectrum in where stakeholders have to justify their reason to themselves by choosing to hold on to a particular stake.
Many who have stayed foolish in this space, will not be regarded as such today. It is very likely that they have sufficiently grown or improved their financial standing by not choosing to listen to what others had to say about the blockchain.
Conclusion
Choosing to invest rather than consume is a decision, and so are many other related choices in the blockchain which come under the scrutiny of public eyes. We all know the potential of the blockchain here, and the biggest 'fools' on the sphere could likely be seen on the Hive chain with their unwavering faith in the potential of the chain.
