Good evening everyone. How has been our day? Well for me my day has been very good. So far I feel welcomed in my new home in Calabar and everything is going smoothly and I really pray it remains that way.
Now back to my main post for today. The family I stay with here in calabar hapens to celebrate their 42nd wedding anniversary today and I was so amazed and happy.
Trust me 42 years is no joke,how did they get there? Is it that they didn't face any issues along the way? What was their secret? This were the questions I kept asking myself.
And then I remember this post I came across sometime ago.
We young people of these days are just too nonchalant about our marriage, we refuse to put in the needed work into our marriage to make it work. We have forgotten that anything good and lasting takes work. Nothing happens by chance.
We shouldn't have divorce as an option except of course it poses a threat to your life.. We should go into marriage with the mindset that i will do all it takes to make my marriage work. I will put in the required effort and time into marriage. Falling in love is not the only ingredient to a successful marriage. There has to be understanding, respect, compassion, sacrifice, passion, forgiveness, zero tolerance to gossip from outsiders, etc. All these factors put together is what will lead to a long lasting marriage. So you see love is very important and foundational for a successful marriage but it's not all there's. There are a lot more other factors.
