A memorable day at my elder sister's traditional marriage ceremony
Last week Saturday was another happy day and unforgettable day of my life because it was my elder sister which happens to be my mother's first female child traditional marriage ceremony.
From the moment I woke up from sleep in the morning around 7am I was already feeling the excitement on my siblings faces, and to me I forgot already so ask and told me that can't I remember that today is our eldest sister traditional marriage ceremony day? Then I remembered and said okay yes yes I remember and I feel excited too.
And a few minutes later they begin to walk around, some going out from the house while some coming into the house. working here and there Cooking food to entertain guests that will be coming to the marriage ceremony and all the rest so i joined and followed them to work as well and before I know friends, family members and neighbors started coming from far and near to help us too in making the preparation.
Even the compound we started decorating for this beautiful moment and we tried our best to make everything well organized because people are coming from far and near and before 10am we've finished everything and set for the occasion to start.
Around 11:30 am the occasion now started music begin to play loudly and people started to come the venue and I also prepare and come to venue I start dancing too because I was so much excited about the marriage ceremony because she is the first girl to marry in all my mother's children.
So when we were dancing all of a sudden the music changed and when I look I saw my elder sister stepping out and she looks so beautiful on her traditional marriage attires and she was surrounded by the bridesmaids who danced with her when is coming out.
I've never seen my sister this beautiful since I was born, she was so beautiful and I felt so proud of her and at the time I was so emotional because it's my first time attending my sibling marriage she is the first person to do traditional marriage in the family
As she was working towards the groom, people were just taking pictures, snapping her and making videos, recording her and works towards our father to take the cup of wine which she will use to go find the groom, and finally our father gave her the cup of wine then take it to the groom and he drinks from the cup and then he put money in the cup as tradition demands and they come back to our father and he blessed their union and pray for them.
Then here comes another wonderful entertainment, as the music starts playing loudly they she started dancing and the groom starts to spray her money and as tradition demands he will need to spray her until she laughs if not he will not stop so he continues to spray her but my sister don't want to laugh because the money she is expecting as not yet complete so he continues to spray untill his money almost finished so he now whispers to her ear then after few seconds she laugh and the spraying of the money now stops.
Few minutes later they pray final prayer and we enter and section were we snap pictures I followed them to snap make videos and the traditional marriage ceremony comes to another end.
This is another wonderful day I will never forget because it means a lot to me and my sister because finally she got married successfully
