Talk about three valuable traits that you wished everyone in the world had. It could be an attribute or a skill but not more than three and it must reflect an innate characteristic in man.
As a psychologist in training, I am made to believe that every character or trait from a person is a result of nature (hereditary) and nurture (environment or upbringing) and I wouldn't doubt that many people are who they are as a result of the biological and environmental factors they were born into or taken into but then, I also believe that as we grow up and mingle with people, we all should learn to inculcate and throw away characters or traits that we know will not be of good use to us and the society because they tell people who we are and speak louder than our words. As they say "Actions speak louder than words."
Empathy
Being empathetic is one best innate traits one can have in our world today, one who isn't out there just for their own good but for others around them too, who looks out not just for the good of themselves but for everyone else around them. One who tries to relate to another individual's problem and can put themselves in another person's shoes. One who is emphatic is a good listener, doesn't just think or come to a conclusion about a matter from their own perspective but tries to look at the perspective of others, and isn't quick to judge others because of what they've heard.
If everyone is emphatic, the world would be a better place, because everyone wouldn't be trying to make another person see from their own perspective because we all are wearing everyone's different shoes and not selfishly making decisions just to suit us.
Generosity
Nowadays, generosity is underrated, we are mostly generous to those who are generous to us or our family members and friends, meanwhile, it isn't supposed to be so, we are supposed to be generous to everyone we come across and are in need. I know the world is a dark place but then imagine if everyone was generous, wouldn't the world be a better place for the struggling and the poor people around us? Unfortunately, I think in our world today, our generosity starts and ends with our friends and family members and not those who are not related to us.
Honesty
Many people think in our world honesty does not pay, I guess because everyone now lies, so even when one is telling the truth nobody believes, and some more would see reasons and agree with a lie even when it is obviously a lie. Honesty they say is a virtue,, you can not pay someone to be honest, someone who is honest would remain honest to you even if it is the last thing they do on earth.
Imagine having a world filled with honest people, imagine having a room filled with an honest world, I guess we would not have to check the clock to be sure that the person who greeted us with "Good morning" is telling the truth. We wouldn't have to be suspicious about everything and everyone around us.
I know most people hate being told the truth, but then, I think if we have honest people in the world, the world will be a better place for thousands of people.
