I welcome you to my blog. Over the years I have come to realise that trust is not something money can buy you. No matter how rich you are, you cannot use your money to get people to trust you; it is impossible to do that. Trust must be earned; you cannot buy it, and after earning trust and losing it, it is nearly impossible, if not impossible, to get it back. One way to get people to trust you is by being honest; once honest, people can easily trust and rely on you and the words coming out of your mouth. We all have a person or people in our lives who everyone knows are not honest, and for that reason, even when they are saying the truth, people find it very difficult to believe and will verify from other sources before believing what they say.
Honesty is supposed to be like a watchword for every individual; it has to be a lifestyle and something we do effortlessly. There are people who struggle to be honest, and that has made life quite difficult for them because people find it difficult to trust them. Honesty in layman's terms simply refers to being truthful or saying the truth and living upright always. When people know you to be an honest person, it paves the way for you both in rooms where you are present and in rooms where you are not present.
When dealing with people, don't choose who to be honest with; be honest with everyone, for you don't even know who will help and recommend you to others and opportunities tomorrow, which makes being honest in all your dealings with everyone very important. I was recommended for a job not because I was that qualified for the job but just because the lady had an encounter with me and saw me as an honest person, and even though the job was not okay for me because of the pay they were offering, it felt good to be recommended because of honesty, and I was encouraged to do more.
So the importance of honesty cannot be overemphasised; it paves the way for you and brings you opportunities from even places and people that you least expect. It will cause your name to be mentioned for good both in rooms where you are present and rooms where you are not. Honesty helps you to earn people's trust, and once people trust you, they are willing to give you the opportunity to work for them and give access to them and information that can turn your life around. Trust is earned, not bought, and honesty is one way to earn it.
