I could never imagine that anyone could dive into the darkness without even realising it.. Darkness can be all sort of things. For me darkness was the loss of joy. It was a constant struggle to find out what was going wrong, cause it was definitely something going wrong, without being able to point it. It was a period full of stress and anxiety for no profound reason.
The biggest trap though was that I transitioned from light to darkness so smoothly, so gradually, that I was not able to notice the difference...
It started getting darker but there was still some light... So I paid no attention...
Colours slowly faded but hey, that happens from time to time... They are not always bright.
I got used to that fading and then I got into a grey zone... Not pleasant but not bad either.
Then everything was covered in darkness. No light, no colours, nothing. Just me floating in a black hollow space.
Where am I? Was I always in here? It feels like I was...
...It felt like I had always been in this dark place. Like this was actually who I was. I had forgotten how it feels to be fine.
What made me get out of there?
My annual check up.
The reason behind that?
An overactive "butterfly"...
A hyper thyroid that made me a mess. Nothing too serious thankfully, that eventually got under control after finding out.. This turbulent period was definitely a wake-up call and a clear reminder that we have to pay attention to our body. That we have to listen to it and read the signs. But firstly we have to respect ourself and protect us from anything or anyone who threatens to destroy our precious balance. Cause stressful situations may really mess our health. Our whole body and mind.
