Crazy things happen to crazy people. Have you ever felt that the end, your end is coming? I felt that for the first -and I hope for the last time, well not exactly last since one day we're all gonna die for real. So what happened?
I ate and half an hour later I took my dog for a walk. We ran, we played and we returned back home. As I was cleaning her paws -yup I do that twice a day since she really enjoys taking naps on the sofa-, I felt a discomfort in my chest. After a while this mild discomfort turned into unbearable pain both in my chest and my back. Am I having a heart attack?!
As you understand, I got panicked -something not that rare for me- and started walking around the house, trying to evaluate the situation; am I dying right now or do I have time to go to the hospital? Hospital? No way I'm so afraid of hospitals. Maybe I should call a doctor. This is when shortness of breath joined our company and I was then sure that yes, that was the end.
I left aside the pain -which was still unbearable, from 1-10 it was like 8,5 to 9- and started thinking about my loved ones mourning and crying over my dead body -LOL. The whole thing lasted approximately for half an hour. Half an hour of crazy thoughts, pain and paranoia.
When I finally felt better I went to a doctor, who sent me to another doctor, who made all the tests for my heart, which by the way is in perfect condition. So what the hell was that??? Probably it was due to gastroesophageal reflux disease. The doctor told me that this happens to many people and they all believe that they have a heart attack as the pain is similar.
So relieved that I'm ok and that nobody is gonna suffer from my loss, I'm now sharing this with you in order to give you a useful advice, in case you haven't already known that... Don't lie down after eating -and don't run but I guess I'm the only idiot who did that- as the stomach's contents return back up into the esophagus and may cause damage and this fake heart attack...
