I've been monitoring my bed ridden patient's intake and output for about 4 days now. His intake is considerably good compare to his intake last week where he only eats breakfast and dinner.聽
Considering his intake as good, the only thing alarms me is his output. He doesn't pass stool for four days now. I already adviced him and his brother to increase fluid intake to loosen up the stool inside.
But, until now there is no improvement and I already notice a distended and hard abdomen upon palpation. So my intervention now is to give him this Fleet Enema.聽
After 11 minutes since i administer the Fleet Enema he already pass stool.聽
