To be honest I think we lost the plot on health and wellness Somewhere along the road it becomes this big convoluted thing where you’re calculating every single calorie and following a hundred rules and chasing this concept of perfection that doesn’t really exist. The more regulations we create, the more away we are from truly feeling happy.
Health was never meant to be a full-time job. It wasn’t supposed to be about spreadsheets and remorse and a new right approach every other month. But somehow we created it that way and now people feel like they’re failing just because they’re not tracking macros or hitting ten thousand steps or doing some influencer’s regimen to the letter.
It’s been a lot easier for me as I’ve gotten older. Eat well, not flawlessly. Just well. Move your body. It doesn’t have to be at the gym, a walk counts. Sleep a lot. There is no discipline that can remedy what fatigue destroys. “Take care of your mind, because if you are falling apart inside, none of the rest matters.” And honestly, just be consistent, that's it, that's the whole secret no one wants to hear because it's not exciting enough.
I don’t think health needs more rules, I think it needs less noise. Less chasing, less comparing, less complicated something that was instinct. Let's make things easy again. Eat, move, relax, breathe. Repeat. It was all it needed to be, really.
