One of the things that caught my attention the most at the event where I presented my paper was the exhibitions from companies in the microelectronics area. At several stands, it was possible to see silicon wafers made with different technologies, as well as integrated circuits and many other things that seemed almost unimaginable.

One example was a circuit developed to collect energy from tree trunks and make the device work in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, sending information to low-Earth-orbit satellites around the forest. This device is shown in the images above.

However, everything has a price. In the long term, this device can end up harming the tree because it needs to be installed in contact with the tree's sap. The temperature difference between the outside and inside of the tree is responsible for generating the energy.
