It is interesting to think about how being a capable person and learning things throughout life can simply help us spend less money as adults. When we are younger, we think that cleaning a bathroom, cooking, and doing small household chores can be a real pain, but we have no idea how much these things can help us in the future. Whenever we learn something, you can be sure that it will serve a purpose in our lives, even if we only realize it much later.

I am the kind of person who knows how to do a little bit of everything. I am not an expert in construction, electrical work, or plumbing, but I am the kind of person who will figure things out when something needs to be done, and if I don't know how to do it, I will find a way to learn. Recently, I went through a breakup and moved into a house where I live alone. I organized the entire move, put every piece of furniture in its proper place, drilled holes in walls, installed screws, assembled furniture, and so on. Now, think about how much I would have to spend to pay someone to do all of that for me.

And it is not just about getting the house in order. I am a guy who cooks really well, and I prepare my meals for the entire week on Sundays to save time in my busy routine. I clean the house during quieter moments while working from home, manage my bills, deal with the responsibilities that come with having a child, and take care of several other everyday tasks that seem easy but that many people only realize are not so simple once the real game begins.

I could spend hours talking about all the things I know how to do that help me save money, but one of the things I genuinely enjoy is building things, whether it is furniture or projects that come from my crazy ideas. This week, I was thinking about how to install a clothesline in my house since I don't have much space, and I came up with a good idea. I decided to create a kind of suspended clothesline with a few joints that will allow me to use it only when needed, without making the place look ugly or getting in the way of everyday movement. I am still waiting for a few parts to arrive so I can finish everything, but just imagine how much I would have to spend to hire someone to design and build this project for me. Besides getting my hands dirty, I also enjoy using my creativity to find solutions. I also have a knack for fixing things. Electronics are not really my thing, but when it comes to manual objects, mechanisms, and moving parts, I can almost always find a way to get them working again. In fact, this is one of the things I enjoy doing the most.

Well, I believe I can handle myself pretty well in many aspects of life, and I started thinking about how these skills gradually developed in me over the years. I came to the conclusion that much of who I am today would not exist if I had not grown up with limited financial resources. Back then, I had to be creative and fix the toys I received from my mother's employers, which were often discarded because they were broken. It is interesting to see where this desire to bring things back to life came from. As for taking care of a house, knowing how to cook, and managing everyday responsibilities, those habits came from having to help my mother during childhood and watching how a single mother could get so many things done and manage everything so skillfully. In the end, those hardships also gave me skills that I still carry with me today. That is why I always say that we need to hold on to the opportunities that help us grow and become better people. Being independent and knowing how to solve problems with our own hands is a blessing. I am glad I had the opportunity to learn all these things and become the person I am today!

Recentemente, me separei e me mudei para uma casa onde moro sozinho.
