Originally, I wanted this Wednesday walk to be about the various Supermarkets that we have in my locality. But as I moved from one end to the other, my intention changed, and I took other pictures as well.

I wanted to show you how lazy most of the superstores are because they rarely opened early.

You could have a 7 am appointment, and you decide to get cereals for breakfast. You will be utterly disappointed because none of the Supermarkets will open.

It will surprise you to know that, the superstore disappointed me, this time, they were all opened. My God! They have repented....lol

I was pleased because I was already hating the fact that I will be writing a negative article in the morning.

Now, this turned into a positive one, and I am very happy to share with you most of the things I saw during my Wednesday Walk

Stay with me, it will be fun, I promise.

We call this point, Water Fountain, and it is always very beautiful at night. That is because the entire place is often lighted up and it blinks.

Did you know that one of the things that made me study Civil Engineering in school is this fountain? Yes, I was fascinated by it, the first time I set my eyes on it.

And I was curious about its innovation and creation. I wanted to know how it was done, the structural analysis, and the various calculation that goes into building a fountain.

Have I found out yet? No! We are currently studying structural mechanics in school, soon, I will get there.

As I walked, I witnessed traffic, and I took a shot. The lady in the picture happens to be one of the traffic wardens, and she was doing her work effortlessly.

Now, here is a picture of a Supermarket. This one is called K & C Supermarket.

They opened quite early because as I passed all the goods were stacked properly showing that they were ready for the day's business.

Here we have the Overhead bridge. It is situated very closed to the fountain.

We usually have lots of traffic in that spot, so the Governor constructed the fountain as a roundabout, then included the bridge to assist pedestrians to move around safely.

I loved this supermarket when I got here because I felt, they were pretty much competent and prepared to compete favorably.

Why do I say so? You see, they have a bus, that helps convey goods.

Probably, they go to the big markets, purchase the various products needed to stock their store, then, convey them safely to the supermarket.

I am even thinking they could use the bus to make supplies for their customers. Who knows? The supermarket is called Favor Shopping Center

Oh, you see here, a close shot of our traffic lady in good-looking uniform, taking pleasure in doing her job.

IMG_20210623_073939_214.jpg

Now, who is this guy? Lol. I met him while I walked, and we started talking. I wanted to take a shot of the signpost, and he got into the picture.

However, I specifically took that shot because I wanted to show you that this particular supermarket did not have a functioning signboard.

I did not know what it was called, because the post had been damaged.

IMG_20210623_073541_770.jpg

I was trying to snap the entrance but my camera was unhappy with the management over the signboard, so the picture isn't really clear. It's blurry...lol

As I returned home, I saw our market stall was empty, on a different day, you will find women selling foodstuff and groceries over here.

They will put up a trampoline, cover the tables with plastic bags, and display their goods. The tables look all old and bad because it has been exposed to rain and sunlight daily.

You remember I said you would have seen a display of foodstuffs on a different day right? Well, today is the general market day, so everything has been moved forward to a different location.

General market days are days you can buy goods at affordable prices, and you will find lovely things to buy too.

This one is a close shot of the K & C Supermarket.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this supermarket. Where is it? It's gone! They fold up, went out of business.

I have been passing this road often but didn't notice this. The name according to the signpost is Universal Superstore. I have no idea why they folded up. Maybe, the Landlord wanted his space, or, bankruptcy happened.

IMG_20210623_074956_384.jpg

Best Still and Shop, don't ask me where the store is, I couldn't find it....lol.

I saw the signpost, but the store went missing, so I took the shot with the woman trying to make ends meet by frying Akara, and selling it with Bread.

IMG_20210623_074302_631.jpg

Who is this smiling fellow? Lol. Do you remember the market stall? I took this shot there.

The smiling fellow seems to be a fan of photoshoots because as I was taking the original shot, he moved closer and I figured, he wanted to be a part of the moment.

So I created a memory for him and myself.

My friend is angry about the lady behind him, she said I shouldn't have taken a shot of someone's behind...lol.

God knows I didn't notice her, I was so overwhelmed by the happiness of the boy to notice the surrounding.

IMG_20210623_081504_628.jpg

That's another hustling lady over there. Her children are leaving for school, and she is preparing her stall for the morning market.

IMG_20210623_074428_783.jpg

Here is another supermarket, this one is called Top Notch Supermarket, forgive me for taking the shot with the plant.

It's one of the shots I took as I began walking, and I was very shy because people were staring..lol

IMG_20210623_073115_675.jpg

This other supermarket is called Free Zone Shopping Center

IMG_20210623_074907_781.jpg

Now, why on earth do I have a communication store as one of the shots?

It was just too beautiful, I couldn't leave it behind....smiles.

It seems they are one of the lazy folks because as you can see, the owners aren't opened for business.

Maybe, if they did, I would have been too shy to take this shot and share it with you today.

IMG_20210623_074156_763.jpg

Wow. This is a more closer shot of K & C Supermarkets Is it nice?

IMG_20210623_073809_815.jpg

You remember today is market day right? These women are preparing the various vegetables to display and sell in the market.

IMG_20210623_081316_235.jpg

It will surprise you to know that this was the first photo I took today.

My hands were shaking because I felt the owners will cause a scene.

Over here, we take photos and use them to report vices and bad conduct to the appropriate authorities.

So walking up to a supermarket and taking shots of their scenery, I felt, the management will be upset.

IMG_20210623_072253_812.jpg
To make matters worse, as I took the shot, a man called me over and asked why I was taking shots of the supermarket.

I explained with smiles that I am taking a walk and taking photos as well so that I can write about it.

I made sure the tone was friendly and did not sound suspicious at all.

Once I was done explaining, he said, no problem, and smiled back at me.

I heaved a sigh of relief afterward and proceeded to the rest of the places I shared with you.

This superstore is called King Star Supermarket and it is the first superstore you will find if you are walking from my place to town.
IMG_20210623_072311_798.jpg

To close this Wednesday walk, I'll give you a close shot of the bankrupt superstore we talked about earlier.

IMG_20210623_080602_255.jpg

Oh no! Did I just end this on A negative note? I am very sorry. Please, forgive me. Now, I understand why the scripture said "be careful how you think, your life is shaped by your thoughts"

My thoughts earlier were negative ones, and my posts got shaped by them.

Here is the lesson for today's Wednesday walk. A man is a product of his thoughts, think positively. Have fun with the rest of your day. Cheers.
