Homecoming and the temple of truth.. AC Valhalla final chapter. Part I.

We have finally reached the end of the AC Valhalla story and, although I will have to cut it into two parts, from here on I will tell you how it all ends for Eivor the Wolfslayer.

We start this chapter by meeting Sigurd at the docks to be pleasantly surprised that he wants to return to Norway to talk to his father.

Hearing of his intentions to return home made me happy, as at one point I thought he wanted to reconcile with his father. For a moment I was excited to sail back down that route I hadn't originally brought here, but the more I talked to Sigurd the more I understood that his intentions were not peaceful.

Upon landing at Alrekstad village in Hordafylke we noticed that the new king had made this place his new home and all the fortifications look much bigger and imposing.

As we were not considered enemies, we were able to enter without problems. In the tavern we found Styrbjörn, father of Sigurd, drowned in alcohol. Seeing him in this state, his son began to shout at him and reproach him for his past decisions. Faced with these demands, the former king only reclaimed his share of the treasure he had stolen before we left.

I find it unbelievable that, after all this time, all I can think about is the gold we don't carry. While much of the blame is mine for being the perpetrator of the theft, I believe that a father who puts wealth before his family should not be called a father. That is why, angry, we both boarded the drakkar again and headed for the fjord.

This time the one in front was Sigurd, who again began to mutter about his visions and that in another life he had been here. Before leaving, I promised him that I would follow him without protest, and so I did.

After walking in the middle of a snowstorm, we arrived at a huge cave which we entered without thinking twice.

Inside the cave we find a huge metal door, which, by its size, does not seem to be made by any blacksmith. After stammering a word in some strange language, the door opens before Sigurd and asks me to continue. I follow him, but now I am more hesitant than before.

We advance a stretch and stop on top of a platform which, magically, begins to descend into the depths.

Once the platform stopped, we arrived at a huge cavern in which, in the distance, we could see a huge structure and in the center, what we could see from here was a gigantic metallic spider.

Sigurd assures me that everything is fine, that nothing will happen, and cautiously I get a little closer to the metal monster to realize that they are actually some kind of metal limbs, and on one of them is hooked an old friend, who seems to have arrived here a long time ago.

As I revel in all that was new before me, I see Sigurd approach a wall and, after interacting with a stone, it begins to move and emit a ghostly light.

Quickly, he stands up, moves away from me and starts walking towards the circle. Before I can react, a metal arm grabs him from behind and lifts him into the air. And when I try to help him, I fall victim to the same event.

For a moment I lose consciousness and suddenly wake up in a bed and a room that are not mine, but that for some reason seem very familiar. Undoubtedly, I'm no longer in the place I was before, so all that's left is to explore the surroundings to try to figure out how to get out of here. But that will be in the second part.
