I traveled through a vast desert, steering clear of a distant storm to reach the Khufu Temple Hideout. After deploying Senu to scout the area, we infiltrated the underground camp, eliminated guards and the captain during their lunch break to claim the treasure. Upon exiting, I rescued a sick prisoner, escorted him to his palace, where a quest for a wealthy ring was offered.
I stood at the edge of the sprawling desert expanse, gazing at a massive pyramid rising in the distance while a fierce dust storm brewed far off on the horizon.
Senu soared high into the sky, scanning the rugged terrain below to tag the location of the hidden treasure, the enemy captain, and the surrounding bandits.
It looked like they were resting or staying stationed in specific spots, though I could not be entirely certain from that height.
Once I had all the information I needed, I returned to my own perspective and moved in. I carefully positioned myself above a lone soldier and executed a flawless aerial assassination. It was a clean strike, and fortunately, no one else was around to witness the take down.
Moving silently through the shadows, I spotted another target below me. I lined up my approach and executed another drop, taking him out instantly.
With two guards down, I paused to survey the area again, checking for any remaining threats before making my move on the captain and the rest of his men.
As I crept closer, I realized that I had arrived right during their lunch break. They were all gathered together, completely distracted by their food. I actually felt a small twinge of guilt about attacking them while they were eating, but I had a mission to complete.
To create a distraction, I set fire to a nearby structure, hoping to confuse them and scatter their forces.
The smoke and flames immediately caught their attention, and one of the guards spotted me. At that point, any stealth approach was thrown out the window, and they were no longer relaxed at lunch. They rushed out to confront me, which gave me the perfect opportunity to engage.
With the camp completely cleared, I located the treasure chest and looted it, completing the location and earning 400 XP for my efforts.
As I prepared to leave that miserable place, I noticed a marker nearby indicating a potential side quest. I investigated the area and realized I had almost completely missed a man who was locked away as a prisoner.
He looked incredibly weak and ill, and he begged me to help him escape the camp. In return for his freedom, he promised to share valuable secrets regarding Giza. He was too weak to walk, so I hoisted him onto my shoulders and carried him out of the hideout.
Once we reached a safe distance outside the camp, I set him down on the ground. To my surprise, as soon as his feet touched the sand, he seemed completely fine and was no longer acting sick at all.
He began telling me about a legendary ring of unparalleled riches that everyone was desperate to find. He needed my help to escort him back to his palace to discuss the matter further. We found some horses nearby, which meant we would not have to make the journey on foot. And I escorted him to his palace.
I'll show more of my photographic journey of the games soon, so stay tuned to my blog if you liked them.
