Neuwied
We were in Neuwied last weekend and went on a little exploration trip to the Feldkirchen lookout point in Neuwied.
Neuwied is a town near Koblenz and lies directly on the Rhine.
We started our little tour in a district called Wollendorf. It is located on the north side of the Rhine.
Through a few small alleys, you get out of the inhabited area relatively quickly and into nature.
From time to time, however, one notices how nature is reclaiming its territory.
Someone has probably immortalised his tools in a door here. It's not so bad either. If you're looking for the spanner again, just take it away from the door.
In the background you can clearly see the Rhine valley. The river in the middle is the Rhine.
What this thing was used for, I don't know. But at least the year is easy to see. 1966 wasn't really a year when bunkers were built. Probably more something for water.
When we reached our highest point of the tour, there was a small viewing platform. Like all these things, this one wasn't really well kept, but it was still nice there.
Almost at the bottom, there is a water playground for children. I was told that there was originally an outdoor pool here, but like many pools it was closed for economic reasons.
The pool was dismantled and the water play area built.
It's certainly nice for children, but a swimming pool in the middle of the forest would also be a highlight.
Then on a garage in this village I discovered this cool sculpture.

A little further down, we passed a couple of gardens. At first, I was really excited about this garden. More colours are almost not possible. Incredibly beautiful.
And then when we walked a few steps further, we almost fell over with surprise.
The contrasts of how to create a garden couldn't be greater.
On the left, pure colours with lots of plants, and on the right, a stone desert with artificial water.
As far as I know, such gardens are now forbidden to be built. Both gardens were very well kept, but only the one on the left is really beautiful for me.
To the right again, there was a garden with gravel and small trees.
I also found this one worth a snapshot. I wonder which adapted first in terms of colour. The house or the hedge?
It was a lovely walk in any case.

Wir waren am letzten Wochenende in Neuwied und haben dort einen kleinen Erkundungsausflug auf den Aussichtspunkt Feldkirchen in Neuwied gemacht.
Neuwied ist eine Stadt in der Nähe von Koblenz und liegt direkt am Rhein.
Wir starteten unsere kleine Tour in einem Stadtteil namens Wollendorf. Es liegt an der Nordseite des Rheines.
Durch ein paar kleine Gassen, kommt man relativ zügig aus dem bewohnten Gebiet raus und in die Natur.
Ab und an merkt man aber schon, wie die Natur sich ihr Gebiet wieder zurückholt.
Hier hat wohl jemand seine Werkzeuge in einer Türe verewigt. Ist auch nicht so schlecht. Wenn man mal wieder den Schraubenschlüssel sucht, einfach vom Tor wegnehmen.
Im Hintergrund kann man das Rheintal gut erkennen. Der Fluss in der Mitte ist eben dieser Rhein.
Wofür dieses Ding genutzt wurde, weiß ich nicht. Aber zumindest ist die Jahreszahl gut zu erkennen. 1966 ist eigentlich nicht wirklich ein Jahr gewesen, in dem man Bunker gebaut hat. Wahrscheinlich eher etwas für Wasser.
An unserem höchsten Punkt der Tour angekommen, lag eine kleine Aussichtsplattform. Wie alle diese Dinger, war auch dieser hier nicht wirklich gut in Schuss gehalten, aber trotzdem war es schön dort.
Fast unten angekommen, liegt dort ein Wasserspielplatz für Kinder. Ich habe mir sagen lassen, dass hier ursprünglich ein Freibad war, welches aber wie viele Bäder aus wirtschaftlichen Gründen geschlossen wurde.
Das Becken wurde abgebaut, und die Wasserspielfläche errichtet.
Für Kinder ist das sicher schön, aber ein Schwimmbecken wäre mitten im Wald sicher auch ein Highlight.
Auf einer Garage in diesem Dorf habe ich dann diese coole Skulptur entdeckt.

Noch etwas weiter unten, kamen wir an ein paar Gärten vorbei. Zunächst war ich wirklich begeistert von diesem Garten. Mehr Farben sind fast nicht möglich. Unglaublich schön.
Und als wir dann ein paar Schritte weiter gegangen sind, sind wir fast vor Überraschung umgefallen.
Die Gegensätze, wie man einen Garten anlegen kann, könnten nicht größer sein.
Links Farben pur mit jeder Menge Pflanzen, und rechts eine Steinwüsste mit künstlichem Wasser.
Wo viel ich weiß, sind solche Gärten auch mittlerweile verboten anzulegen. Beide Gärten waren sehr gepflegt, aber nur der Linke ist wirklich schön für mich.
Nochmal rechts daneben, war dann ein Garten mit Kies und kleinen Bäumen.
Auch das hier fand ich einen Schnappschuss wert. Was hat sich farblich wohl zuerst angepasst. Das Haus oder die Hecke?
Es war auf jeden Fall ein schöner Spaziergang.
