Just last week I told you I was ready to introduce another colour to my mix and the colour I chose was Green 馃挌. This development was as a result of my entry to last week's Art Contest. The Janni Rebel I drew which was a representation of a Genie or Jinn had an excess of green about her. You remember well how the Jinn in Aladin was Blue. If perhaps I drew that I wouldn't have felt the need but I didn't. So I figured it was time to add green at least for the meantime before the need for more colours arise.
I went to purchase the pen from my vendor in whose shop I had earlier seen it but sadly when I got home and started using it I discovered the tip was loose and much ink flowed frequently. Because of that I had to be careful with the way I applied pressure. And that is the major reason why the Green is scanty.
The starting point began with me tracing the body and in doing so I used my blue pen.
I got on the faceand hat almost immediately so as to be able to have a steady form with which to follow and properly input the colours needed.
I used my blue pen in place of the skyblueish texture of his cloak. The cloak was something I enjoyed drawing as I carefully traced the joinings to align.
I shaded this more and later on moves to the staff. At this point I was close to the end.
The final step was the most interesting, in it I painted the parts that were yellow, orange or gold in the card completely red but tried to temper the tone at intervals. I also tried applying some pressure on the face and glad but most importantly, I got to use my new Green Pen. It bled more than I wanted though but it made a little impact in the finishing.
